I think it will eventually be rolled out to the most vulnerable first if that includes me I'm happy to have the injection, we will follow the guidelines as we have done from the start but this could be a game changer, cant imagine how long it would take to make billions of vaccines available and then start the massive job of injections buf it gives us a positive hope for the future.

The map was late updating yesterday. If you zoom in, there's white bits appearing all over the South and East, and notably another day of more white bits in London. White bits in Yorkshire have gone from 2 to 5 so it's not just the South, either. This is a 7-day average which has shown a few days improvement and it's centred on 10 days ago!

On that map, you can see rises in West Yorkshire are slowing and Leeds has started falling. That's 10 day ago.

I note Bradford Hospital Teaching Trust figures have not risen for several days now. Figs have been steady at around 100 Covid patients and 10 in ICU. National hospital admissions figures have been a bit lumpy of late but look to be starting to level off.

Maybe, understand in Leeds and York(North Yorkshire I know) they want a CLEAR picture on how you reduce a tier before going up one.

Bradford are looking for 75m support.

So, I doubt an announcement will be made today.

Need to understand what the other is mate. Not sure that pie chart really gives a true measurement.

I think with pubs etc I think it's just down to the fact increase social activity can take place and the track & trace system is rubbish. This is the only reason why I see football fans not coming back in the UK. The government understand their own trace and trace is rubbish but don't want to admit it or change it.

But the data itself doesn't back that up.

    This is West Yorkshire.....

If the sharp peak is on Oct 19th, it slowed dramatically on the 21st! ;)

Yep. See those peaks at the start of October. Add 25% to them to account for the increase in testing since then and you get a near flat trend. And please note I did not say it was not rising in West Yorkshire. I said the rise had slowed in West Yorkshire and had started falling in Leeds.

That's a deeply flawed analysis but fair enough. The figures are what they are and while the positivity rate is not dropping trying to explain it away by an increase is testing is a red herring.

England must pay for Scots Locdown.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8871575/Nicola-Sturgeon-unveils-new-harsher-FIVE-Tier-lockdown-system.html

So, Kranie decides to add further measures to Scotland then demands England pay for it.

Look, I have hammered the government but the main reason I wanted a circuit breaker for 2-3 weeks only is so we get on top of the virus then it's what will be will be.

However, this is all just turning in to a political mess now and we has lost sight of the main aim now. Boris is a weak leader and people are starting to jump all over it now but public just want things to get back to normal but it's all just turning in to a messy political blood bath.

Scotland have a agenda and Boris needs to tell Kranie to feck off!

As you say, we are going round in circles. I think greater local authority expertise is by far the most likely explanation for the difference but I'm not going to convince you, any more than you'll convince me that serial disaster firms like Serco and G4S should be anywhere near the vital track and trace initiative.

I spent 32 years in social services and watched well run, well trained, highly skilful care services for a range of client groups turned into expensive, inefficient, insufficient and sometimes downright dangerous shadows of their former selves by various outsourcing companies. I'm not anti private sector. I believe in a mixed economy, as exists in the most successful and socially cohesive Western democracies. The private sector is extremely good at developing and delivering many goods and services in our economy. But providing good quality public services isn't one of them, in my experience. So the disastrous failure of the privatised national track and trace system was sadly and utterly predictable in my view.
