As per my post on the other thread, we'll see what transpires but I don't have time to keep going through all the Covid numbers daily, posting bits of stuff in here and speculating about reasons and rule changes. I have other priorities I need to deal with for a few weeks and posting here is distracting me from them. Hopefully I'll come back to a better position for the virus and our team. Keep safe in the meanwhile.

The restrictions about to be announced in Liverpool pretty much equate to full lockdown including a restriction on unnecessary travel.

I think we are about to cross a line where more than just the CoVid deniers are about to say enough.

That's a shame but definitely understand. Its always nice to have opposing and challenging views though.

Hope the tax return goes well! Keep safe!

Enough is a enough now. This government has to be held accountable.

Look, all this is simple we need to improve testing and get a world beating track and trace. Until then all measures are not going to work!

    Lockdowns don't work!

Only 24 MPs voted against the extension of the Corona Virus bill which gives Ministers and their Special Advisors powers to make up law without the scrutiny of Parliment.

    Just 24MPs.

For all their shouting posturing, there are only 24MPs who can actually say they tried to make a difference, the others have basically given the governement their backing to carry on as they have.

I notice they said full scale lockdown would come before the house, but they can easily get round that by doing what they are now by applying rules on a regional basis.

New local lockdown measures on Liverpool, Warrington, Middlesbrough and Hartlepool.
You can literally do nothing on an evening or a weekend but can still go to school or work. So basically go to work and school but stay in the house all the other time.
How or why anyone is putting up with this is beyond me!

    All up north as well!

Those that voted for Boris because they thought he would sort out the north - south divide are idiots! Pants firmly pulled down.

Slaves to the system, work and sleep and you can't even visit your family.

Why are the opposition benches just sitting there watching this happen?

We have the choice between Tory and Tory Lite.

My worry is this Shizzle will make it's way to Yorkshire in the coming weeks.

It's difficult for the opposition because the government claim to be following the science and they haven't seen the science. Don't sit on Sage etc.

Nothing they have done so far has brought the infection rates down because everywhere you can catch it you still have to go to. I don’t care what anyone says, social distancing measures or not, masks or not, people are catching it in schools, at work places, supermarkets etc.
Yet you can still do all those Things unchallenged. It’s complete bollocks now and is making a mockery of the measures.

Then it's even more of a disgrace they allowed the Corona Virus act to be renewed without opposition yesterday.

    It is but understandable.

However, let's not take the eye off the ball here which the the government clearly want people to do.

The issue is we lack testing and we lack a tracing system! That's it! We can all dance about here.

I'm still using the 'common sense' rule. I'm not allowed to go inside my parents house yet my kids are allowed to go to my parents house when we need them for childcare. Therefor if I do go inside my parents house I'm not putting anyone at any further risk due to the fact my kids spend hours there and then spend hours with me. So I'm still going inside my parents house.

Another example is that you're not allowed to meet another household elsewhere. So if my parents look after my nephew and my son for childcare at the same time, they come into contact with each other regularly. BUT, if it was my sons birthday, he wouldn't be allowed to see his cousin at, lets say, a soft play centre. We wouldn't be able to arrange to meet up there and them to celebrate his birthday together. We certainly can't arrange that but if we happened to bump into each other at said soft play centre, having booked separately, it again wouldn't put anyone at any further risk.

It defies logic doesn't it? But apparently it was because the amendment to the Bill which the Conservatives and Labour submitted jointly wasn't called for debate for some arcane decision of the Govt and the Bill had to passed for other reasons without the amendment.

The HoC Speaker did however give the Govt the hard word and told them in no uncertain terms that the Govt had to stick to their word of allowing discussion whenever there are major changes or national changes to the 'lockdown' rules. As other Govts found out when Bercow was Speaker, Govt's, not even Cummings' Boris' Govt, better not cross the Speaker.

Anyone understand why the Speaker chose not to allow the amendment from Graham Brady to be put to the House?

Rees Mogg pulled Valerie Vaz and the Labour party to pieces this morning, questioning why after all the hot air from the opposition with regards not having a say with regards a vote in the Corona Virus debate only 5/6 actually took time out to vote.

Good on the Mayor of Middlesbrough who's basically stuck two fingers up at the new restrictions.
