Point is that plenty of families would have loved to know they could just drive up to their parents house if they’d been struck down.

But they resolved they’d just have to struggle along at home while self-isolating - like presumably everyone else would have had to.

 

The sister may have been ill or unable to look after a small child for a variety of reasons, Am not defending him but am defending his right to do the best for his family, If it was the best solution then most would do the same to protect their family and children,
He has broken no laws and apparently acted within the guidelines, The other parties smell blood and want a trophy resignation or sacking, They care little about the child's welfare as long as they can get a resignation to celebrate

 

Again, wilful obfuscation.

I am a lifelong Tory, but I am not defending Cummings. Whether he should be sacked is possibly questionable, but it is the hypocrisy and one rule for them and another rule for the rest of us that rankles with me. The defence of him by Grant Shapps this afternoon was a joke. They dont seem to be able to grasp why it winds people up

Well, yes of course.

But everyone else was under the impression that meant a household had to self-isolate as a unit. And that bringing potential carriers into contact with elderly relatives was right up there with just about the last thing we could do.

 

No, not particularly.

To be honest, I had a small amount of sympathy when I first heard it. But after reading what the guidance actually stated, and how this has been pretty catastrophically handled today, not in the slightest.

The messaging has been dangerously unclear in the first place, and now we’re seemingly introducing the idea that there are circumstances that allow you to make it up as you go along.

 

Tony, I’m really not interested in the technicalities, and I’m really not interested in whether he stays or goes. He’ll only be replaced by the next one on the conveyor belt, jobs for the boys type, and inevitably worm his way back in a few months anyway...It’s the rank hypocrisy that stinks to me.

 

I know people have their sides when it comes to politics but no matter what that side is you have to laugh at the hypocrisy from those in charge of organsing the fight against this virus. Advising us mere plebs what to do, then a big feck you we'll do what we want. I'm not one to batter the opposition at any excuse but jeez they just don't help themselves. Sometimes their stupidity knows no bounds.

But why aren't we asking questions of the Royals at Balmoral, Boris when he went to convalesce at Chequers or as I posted Bonnie Tyler at her holiday home in Portugal, surely they all fall under the same category one rule for them and another for the rest of us.

 

Looking at new number of cases it seems to have strayed going back up two weeks after lockdown was relaxed.

if it is still going up come Thursday restrictions could be reapplied

 

The R rate has hardly changed but there is a lag so next week’s figures should give us a better idea

 

LOL. The Mirror waits for the Tories to rally round former Russien resident Cummings before exposing more details about his further misdeeds around lockdown. The guy is toast and good-riddance to him and his like.

 

Well, The Guardian has published new accounts of Dominic Cummings movements, that are significantly more damning than the official account.

Will be interesting, as a lot of government ministers today expended an awful lot of political goodwill with the public at large to defend him.

Cummings was also spotted at a Barnard Castle, 30 miles from Durham, on 12 April.

 

Highly doubt that mate.. might as well open up the rest of the businesses now and let companies know about the Furlough changes so we can all crack on.
