And just to prove the point, they've outsourced the contact tracing to fecking Serco, of all people! This is the company that took over Bradford's under-performing LEA and made it much worse.
These 'outsourcing specialists' like Serco and G4S have been making *@?$ up after *@?$ up for the last decade, but still they get trusted to provide essential public services, instead of properly funding the public services in the first place.

The teaching unions are talking sense. Unlike our pathetic coward of a 'leader' - graduate of the Monty Python & Holy Grail school of leadership - "Run away, run away".

 

That was the obvious reason. When everyone is back in it all gets lost in the pathetic laughing and jeering. He can play to a crowd but not answer directly with no one else there as we’ve found out

Are teachers any more at risk than health workers, bin collectors, shop workers etc ?,I know it's a difficult decision but unions are blatantly being political and hopefully it should progress to no work no pay.....

 

Who knows? They couldn't possibly have done any worse. Labour wouldn't have taken a holiday in February. Whatever you think of Corbyn (and I'm glad he's gone) he's not a workshy shirker like Johnson. And McDonnell is a born planner/organiser.
I don't believe anyone would have handled this 'perfectly'. But this government ignored all international experience and advice and got every single decision in February & March wrong. And is now relying on the pathetic likes of Serco to try and get us out of the mess they created.
Just how many bad decisions does it take before you right wingers accept that they fecked it up and thousands are unnecessarily dying as a result. Just one week earlier lockdown would have contained this to manageable proportions, but they bottled it.

 

How do you social distance children safely? If the virus is still out there which it is then they shouldn’t reopen. It’s not about politics it’s about people’s health and well-being.

 

So, we keep them off school and furlough the teachers for maybe another 2 years then...?
