Good. It's one activity that people can do, and stick to social distancing guidelines.

No reason for them to stay shut.

Madness that places like golf courses have shut, one of the easiest leisure times to police in terms of social distancing, you never really come remotely close to anyone on a golf course.

Another one to add to the madness list. Waste disposal centres. For what reason were they shut in the first place? Again, very easy to police in terms of social distancing, lets face it, you drive in put your recyclable/waste in metal containers then drive out via a one way system. Instead we have massively increased levels of fly tipping.

Dominic Raab told Sky people should not return to work today. It's Wednesday.

And you can't understand why people are getting confused?

Quarantine people coming into the UK but not if you come through France?

It's because the conservatives can't present. They aren't clear in their message.

Edit: Now you're not allowed to see your parents.

Can you see why people are getting confused?

Whether we like it or not that is a part of Chinese tradition, if they closed the markets they'd go under ground, sadly this pandemic has a long way to run.

In the latest guidance you can allow cleaners and nannies etc back into your home as long as they are not showing symptoms but not go see your family members if they don’t live with you?

It’s all designed to get people back to work and nothing will tell me otherwise. They don’t care who gets it now and can’t be blamed as they can say we are still in lockdown according to our guidance. We are playing dangerously with a second peak.

again we seem to be going it alone with this strategy. Why we choose to ignore the rest I do not know

Sooner we get a vaccine then we can tackle China.

However, it's going to be long 12/18 months

Why is the 50 page (!) document accompanying and explaining these new guidelines only appearing 24 hours after the original speech?

Does feel like people are just going to take matters into their own hands before long. Police have already referred to these guidelines as impossible to enforce.

The example of golf courses above is a good one, no reason the courses themselves should have been closed - and all these restrictions are going to do is allow people to see a greater degree of movement and they’ll follow suit however they see fit.

    I think it's two things.

    1) They can't handle the pressure about the failure in testing and PPE, so want to take the pressure off by letting people concentrate on other things like their jobs

    2) We're so far behind the likes of Germany, Australia, South Korea that we have to seen as improving plus their economy is moving forward. Sweden has economy is doing well.
We have messed up our economy far too many on Furlough and we are all over the place.

I wonder how many MPs have holiday homes in France? The decision to avoid " tit for tat" quarantine rules is plain stupid.

Our police service was already in a bad way with austerity cuts but then being told to police 'advice' without a full and clear understanding of what that 'advice' actually entails is nigh on impossible.
The only way to fully deal with a lockdown is to enforce it, problem is a large section of the British society doesn't like being told what to do regardless of how important to the countries wellbeing that advice may or may not be.
Tie that to this forth coming advice has been written on the back of a fag packet by questionable 'experts' who in some cases don't even follow the advice themselves then we end up with the scenario we have seen where people are defying what they are told. Part of me doesn't blame them.

I've thought about this and it's because of a few reasons.

    1) The stay at home message. The stay at home message was far too strong for the likes of golf courses, McDonald's, Merc to stay open because them companies or industries didn't want to seen as the reason why people are not staying at home.

    2) Furlough... because the Furlough was explained correctly these industries/companies (some) that could of stayed open just took advantage of that instead and got the government to pay the wages.

Why was it done this way around by the government? Why not go to the house today with the proposals and then speak to the public tonight?

I honestly don't get the no quarantine from France and highly concerned about that.

France has the 4th most deaths in Europe behind us and in on the boarder. It make sure no sense that people shouldn't have to quanrantine coming from France. None!

The government are putting far to many lives at risk!

I think initially everyone was incredibly impressed, me included, with the financial measures the government brought in and the speed with which they did it. But I think in some respects it was made too easy. Companies that were not badly affected have been able to take advantage of the measures too - grants, business rate reductions have in effect appeared like a windfall to some. I also think some companies have furloughed staff even when they didn't need to.

Annoyingly, next month I have flight tickets to the UK for my first trip over in three years. However, due to the 14 day rule (is that happening or not) then it looks like if I do get to the UK, then I won't be able to go out anyway. I'm only going for a week, so does it mean I have to extend my trip? I'm spending the first night at an airport hotel. Does it mean I have to stay at Stanstead for two weeks, or am I allowed to drive to my sisters in Cardiff, and do my lockdown there? Unfortunately, I've decided to cancel the trip, because the thought of coming over to Britain for the first time in a long while, and then not be able to enjoy the pubs, restaurants, beaches etc, is like being given a Ferrari and told not to go over 30mph. I'm hoping the flight companies see sense and just cancel all their flights until the quarantine rule is lifted. But then again, that quarantine period has not been decided yet has it? So why talk about it, and not enforce it. Why the wait? Too much dithering imo.
