Exactly. If people want to express their support for the NHS then simply do it as many others do; express it through clapping at the appointed time.

Congregating on Westminster Bridge en masse or anywhere else, trying to outdo other groups whilst ignoring the social distancing rules might well show support for the NHS workers. But more worryingly, it will also provide them with a load more patients! It's madness.

They provoke people on purpose to get a story.
Its a bizarre way to work.

Imagine it was one of your family on the floor after being mugged and this person comes up and starts filming you because they can.
    Legally he can but morally?
Its like the "first amendment auditors" in the US who go into police or post office buildings and shove a camera in peoples faces because they can. Bizarre really.

As much as we hate Leeds that is sad,it doesn't take long this virus sometimes when it grabs hold of you, he was certainly a character... RIP Norman...

The Westminster Bridge was little ott but if you want to show your appreciation it's nothing to do with any one else, what a grumpy nation we are becoming, they have been showing their appreciation all over Europe for weeks where lock down has been far worse than ours.

Its why I personally can't connect with the whole 'clap for the NHS' idea. There's a narcissism to it all - lets clap, but lets make sure we film it and stick it on social media so everyone can see what a thoroughly nice person I am. And now other groups are out to out-do each either. The amount of 'me me me' stuff I've seen for things like 'I'm a key worker too, i'm stacking the shelves of a supermarket, where's my clap'. And yes, there are people who're just cracking on to keep society alive - respect is due. But its the one-upmanship that gets me.

I'm supporting and appreciating the NHS by abiding by the lockdown rules, properly and stringently. That vid further up of masses of people, closely congregating to 'clap the NHS' is mindboggling.

I haven’t clapped myself, each to their own if they want to it’s just not for me. However what I found ridiculous last night was I had my window open and heard the woman who lives next door to me ask her partner if she was recording it. I mean wtf there are some strange mentalities out there, the woman doesn’t give a toss she wouldn’t be clapping if she couldn’t put it on Instagram or Facebook, I’m sure she’s nowhere near the only one either.

    Good read that mate.

Add to it that she and others in the their parliament are taking 20% pay cut to highlight to public that I understand what you're going through and will take a hit myself. She is a true leader.

I just think Boris and co are close to lose the the general public because they are starting to treat us like idiots with their non communication or their plans(and they do have plans).

New Zealand have coped with this awful situation amazingly and other leaders need to look at them.

Mind you they had a few family members over Sunday night, so shows what regard to the situation they have.

This sums it up. It reminds me of the 'you're not wearing a poppy so you don't care about the dead of war' scenario. I admire the work the front line of the NHS does in such trying times, I just don't feel the need to virtue signal my need for attention by standing outside my house clapping like a demented seal. The whole Westminster bridge saga was nothing more than an attention seeking exercise that's badly backfired. The sooner this virus is over the better if it means an end to these sorts of stunts

It helps when there is 71 people per mile as against the U.K. where it’s 777 per mile

A leader is a leader no matter what! 71 people per mile as to us 777 per mile more reason then for the likes of Hancock to take a 20% pay cut and feel what the Uk public are going through and more reason for government to be more open with their plans instead of treating the general public like idiots.

The reason the government are not opening up is due to the lack of testing in the country. Just come out and say" we lack testing but when it's increased we have outlined this plan"

Public confidence is lowering in the government because of that lack of communication about next steps.

They were perfectly plain yesterday when the foreign secretary set out five steps that have to happen first if they come out what may hypotheticaly happen people will relax and start breaking the lockdown early.
For the next three weeks we follow the guidelines and then follow the advice from then, it’s simple

You seen the London Bridge pictures from yesterday?

The government didn't stay a next stage and people are losing it.

A graph showed motor travel going up and I expect that to continue to increase as more self employed will be getting back to work and more will be visiting their families.

The government are losing people now because people are not idiots they know that plans are not outlined because of the lack of testing! Can't you understand that?
