@Storck - how often do you go into the cellar? Could that dictate how much you spend on it a and how fancy it is? Permanent ladder and a hatch sounds like a reasonable bet, tricky bit is having a place you can put a hatch, maybe out of the way that happens to have nice access to between the floor joists, a lower floor cupboard or something so not having to mess about where there’s nice, finished flooring. Ask @millario, he’s handled many subterranean conversion, for the rich and famous.
