Not normally a fan of broadcasting your own grief etc on public platforms for likes and such.
This feels different.Still think I’m a newbie and wish I hadn’t lurked for so long but the way all posters treat each other makes this forum what it is.
The banter and the piss taking is part and parcel of a forum but is always good natured and never has any malice attached.
I’ve been on the end of a bit (some self
inflicted admittedly)and laughed at it every time and wouldn’t want it any other way.
The worlds a shitstorm for everybody at the moment and having somewhere to go and have a a bit of a chat and a laugh when you feel a bit low is so important.

Morning all
Thanks for all the kind wishes yesterday.Genuinely means a lot.Weird day really.
Funerals are obviously hard at the best of times but mask wearing, socially distanced funerals are 10 times harder. Very sterile and all based round a strict timeframe.
However, this didn’t stop us going back to my mums after the ceremony and spending the rest of the day just talking and laughing about the many great memories we have.
Having a good laugh really does put a new perspective on even the hardest of days.
Just need to keep popping in to my mums regularly as now it will really kick in.

I’m getting a new grandchild

Sorry, long post and some pics. My dad finally finished his book compiling all the pictures and notes and info he got from a contact at Lazio, about the time his dad played for the Rome Area Army Corps against a combined Roma/Lazio team at the Stadio Olympico in 1945, the combined Italian side included world cup winner Michele Andreolo amongst other nationalities (same as the British team). My grandad would have been 100 this year, so very nice he got this done at this time. It’s just for family and can’t wait to read it. He translated a lot of it himself from images he was sent of articles in the Corriere dello Sport at the time. The disappointing things is from first glance I cannot see any reference to Gooooaaaallllllaaaazzzzziiiiooooo.

Morning folks

Mum's operation went well but up to a week in hospital follows. Dad ok too. Brother, friends and neighbours chipping in to help. He has been warned not to mess with the gas cooler as he is strictly "old school man" when it comes to cooking

 

Another hot at least middle saxon has ended his 100 miles in 5 days. The weather certainly made it a massive feat. Good lad.
