Not sure what is happening here, although Manchester Council seem to be moving away from the 1st of June and allowing schools to take their own approaches based on their own situation.

It is a difficult one. Puts a lot into the headteachers but I also think an individual approach might be best. The Government views seems to be reception, Y1 and Y6 in all day. I feel a staggered approach, with alternate days might be better. My school is in an area where social distancing has been flagrantly ignored by a lot of people, I am concerned about not being able to socially distance in school and I think we need to minimise numbers. That said, without doubt children need to be able to socialise again.

Staggered starts and alternate days raises further questions. Will they have to deep clean between cohorts? Who will do that? When?

Will PPE be provided? Will it be mandatory? What if one teacher will wear it and another won't? What happens if/when a child or adult in a class gets it?
