Yet, the park opposite the hospital was like a holiday camp this afternoon going by pictures I have seen. People queuing up for ice-creams, having mini bbqs on the grass etc. Scary how many numbnuts there are out there.

I’ve just read a post from Chris Rimmer (friend of Darbs) on Facebook about how many people are not complying to government guidelines and putting others at risk

 

This is where I get annoyed with the news. Rather than going on endlessly about testing kits or what the Chancellor will do next, interviewing person after person and just making a big issue about something we have no control over why not educate people on what they should be doing and why it's important to stay at home using data from other countries like China, Japan, Korea. People see the numbers of cases rising and they don't get it. They're like why stay at home but it takes a week or two of this isolation to slow the numbers. What we're seeing today is a result of a week and a half ago. These news channels are not doing their job.

One million people in California do not have access to clean drinking water. Mainly because they drink water from wells or boreholes in their back yards. Amazing.

I quite liked what Nicola Sturgeon said the other day when she said it shouldn't feel normal right now and if the way you're living still feels normal and like usual then you're doing something wrong. Thought it was quite clever.

 

Nope. On The Americas with Simon Reeve. Episode 3 on California and the US. Its quite affecting. Some of the stories of homelessness, people living inside infrastructure such as railways and people needing to work 100 hours a week for a one bedroom flat is really quite tough to listen to.
