    Two options...

    1. Right click on the desktop where there's space and click 'refresh' then try again to open it. It may fix the link.

    2. Right click on the shortcut/image and select 'open file location' and that should open a folder showing wherever it was saved.

    I did that. It found a shortcut but that wouldn't take me to the file when clicked.

    Open Word, it should have a list of most recent files.

    mid not use the search facility on the hard drive but search for in file and type something that you typing about

    You may have accidentally changed the name of it or the folder where it was stored. That would cause the link to break.

    I was pressing the little disk icon all the time. It's saved somewhere no doubt but I can't find it. Anyway, more or less finished the replacement.
