You're right about people possibly showing a deficit of Vitamin D because they can't get out and about as they usually would and this just makes any study a bit more difficult, as it has to be factored in to any analysis.

I don't expect to see any conclusive results on this one, either way, anytime soon.

Just the mention of Vit D has led to us constantly being out of stock of the cheaper tablets and the ones issued on prescription have been out of stock as well leading to increased costs for NHS

Just had notification at work that our free NHS PPE has been extended. Was due to stop in June but they have extended it to March 2022. Think that says something about how long they think it will be going on for

There's more chance of being struck by lightening on the way to get your jab than dying from a blood clot due to the jab

    Note...

I've just made that up but it's probably true

If you gave 20 million people a peanut the mortality rate would be a lot higher

I've fact checked this for you and you are wrong, but not by much.

The odds of being being struck by lightning, in the UK, are roughly 1 in a million each year. This is roughly the same as the odds of dying from a blood clot due to the jab. As lightning strike numbers are very variable from year to year, there will be many years where you are more likely to be hit by lightning than die from a blood clot due to the jab.

However, I suspect no one has, as yet, been hit by lightning on the way to get their jab.

Mind you, maybe I should be worried, as lightning strikes seem to run in my family.

I'm glad to see pictures of people getting out today to the shops, hairdressers, pubs, etc.

They announced 7 deaths from Covid yesterday and even with 30m+ with at least 1 Covid jab we still have people who are scared to step outside of their own house and are suggesting that those who do are CoVidiots.

So good luck to anyone who is reopening their business or returning to work today, and if you are unsure then don't go back, stay inside but don't slate others who are looking to get back to normal.

I am working today so I can't get to the pub or to the shops, but I will be visiting the gym later in the week as I guess the initial rush will last for a few days.

There are three pubs near me which are open with pretty large outdoor areas which I will look to visit in the coming week, these businesses have been unfairly scapegoated as part of the problem when there is no evidence to back that up.

Don't know what it's like over in Bradford but Leeds centre is thriving today. So good to see people sat outside having a few beers and wandering around shopping.

All without a passport in sight!

I was quite surprised with the few cars that were on the roads went for my barnet cutting, but there is a new gym at the end of Carrbottom Road and the car park behind was well full, there'll be a few aching bodies tomorrow.

Plenty of bedwetters out in force on social media, already worrying about 3rd, 4th, 5th waves of corona. Funny these worriers usually have the #fbpe tag on their bios, whatever that means.

    100%. Isn't there always?!

From what I saw last yesterday and the stories I've read this morning it's clear that the people have decided that this thing is over. Normality is the only way forward.

After a year of this it's an informed decision as well, its an acceptance of risk knowing full well the possible repercussions. It's heart warming to me.

Keep the vaccines rolling out, keep pushing for the end of restrictions, keep accepting covid is never going away and actually enjoy your life.

Look at all those queuing outside Primark...

So what? People haven't been allowed into a proper shop since Christmas, why shouldn't they go out?

Why aren't they at work? Because the same morons moaning about them flocking out to the shops are those who are quite happy for all the places of work to be closed and for us to be forever in lockdown.

How desperate are people to get out to the pub? Well some people may live with parents, may have no garden and have not seen friends in a normal environment for months. Not everyone lives in their own house with a big garden so can have people round.

The people who seem to be so against us getting back to normal are probably living comfortable lives, like the moron jobsworth who denied a pub from opening because he deemed their outside as not outside enough whilst no doubt being on full pay throughout. Which is strange because some councils are quite happy for fully enclosed marques to be used for outdoor seating.

Here is a rare idea, if you are uncomfortable with the current easing of restrictions then lock yourself away, but don't expect everyone else to do the same.

I have no doubts the relaxations announced will cause a spike in infections, The key will be how big a spike and can we control it,

The "Dog & Gun" top of St Enochs Road was rammed they had erected some marquees in the car park as well as the usuall outside seating/decking area.
A presenter outside Primark said it was estimated with the pandemic we had save billions, let's hope people go out and spend spend spend and give the UK economy a massive boost.

I think yesterday has shown that the fear narrative isn't followed by all. I doubt anyone out yesterday in any setting cares about a covid passport.

There are still many sniping at those who are returning to normal who seem to have already made their minds up that there will be another spike, and will probably be disappointed if there isn't.

Looking at the rules as they stand, they are far stricter than at any point from May to October last year, and that was at a point with no vaccinations.
