CONFIRMED Caddis to sign

The fact that he said our midfield is good enough, says it all.

Fordy has always been blinkered. The guy is clueless if he thinks ALL our problems are because of O’Connor and cannot see that our midfield have just not protected our back like one iota

 

Isn’t that a contradiction? You say he hasn’t changed, but you started by saying we had gone for experience over youth...!

This is clearly proof that we HAVE learned from the past and are trying to put things right..?

 

When push comes to shove, football is a team game, all the team have responsibility to defend and attack. If the defence had the odd mistake, then that is fair enough. However, our team has not defended well, and it comes from powder puff tackling in midfield whereby exposing the defence to countless attacks, if that happens there is only one outcome on the law of percentages. It is also the defenders responsibility to be involved in starting attacks, pumping it up to the striker who can’t hold the ball up, and there is only one thing that is going to happen the ball is coming back pdq.

I have seen some gelling with this ream not much but just signs. If we continue to see this, we might scramble out of this mess.

The club want us to concentrate on the team and not the board room politics, but difficult to do when we can all see the massive effect of poor management, abysmal recruitment, disgraceful pre season, non existent fitness coaching. What would help the fans get onside and focusing on the team is if Rahic clears his desk and leaves VP. He is part owner, and therefore not that easy, but if he is going then we need to know.

 

Which post are you referring to when I said he hadn't changed? And who do you mean by 'he'?

 

Depends on what you mean by “he has done all his career”. Other than 2 seasons (actually 1 and a half), his other seasons have been very average. He usually gets just 10-12 goals a season and less when in the Championship.

Well I didn't say Edin hadn't changed, but I don't think he has - I think the situation is beyond his control now, and he's on borrowed time - which explains our switch back to a men-not-boys philosophy. That's occurred very recently, with Caddis suddenly offered enough money to sign in order to appease fans.

It's clear Edin's influence is being minimised - that's why more and more people are speaking out, and why things like the backroom staff is changing as well as the ideology around the playing staff.

But if you're asking why I'm saying Edin didn't learn from past mistakes, it's simple - going back to a development squad mentality after the last train wreck under Christie/Jackson is just plain stupid. The lessons were there, from less than decade ago, and yet some idiot marches in with an arrogant idea it can work perfectly this time - only to see us performing far, far worse, even with a managerial switch.

So I hope that explains why I feel Edin failed to learn from past mistakes (our mistakes, not his), and why the current switch BACK to a men-not-boys philosophy doesn't really play in his favour.

Another very good performance from him yesterday. Fast becoming one of my favourite players. His experience has been invaluable, and he belies his rather unfit looking stature with his energy, and his positional sense is superb.

 

Has only been here a short while but is fit enough to put in those sort of performances. A great signing for us and exactly the ones we should have been signing in the summer. Has something you can’t buy, an experienced footballing brain.

 

Was at his first appearance at Peterborough and in the first ten minutes he'd put in a cross, had a shot and a couple of tackles and he just looked the part.

 

It's noticeable that teams are not getting a free ride down our right side now. I think back to watching Mellor, Riley and at times McGowan and Caddis is different gravy. As Idle alluded to, his positional sense is very good. He covers for others and links well with our technical players.

 

Fantastic signing. Captain yesterday. Just give him at least an 18 month deal when his short contract runs out.

 

Yeah, I was there too. He had an excellent debut and has carried on well from then. Really good signing.
If we can get a couple more defenders of Caddis' standard in January we'll be sorted at the back.
