CONFIRMED Caddis to sign

O'Connors' fault, Wright's fault, not really relevant, fact is NO outfield player is either good enough, motivated enough or understands their role, that's why L2 is calling.

 

Exactly it's a team game, it's more or less pointless singling players out when we are so bad. I think Wright gets singled out more on lack of effort than ability, his contribution typifies this team and that's why we are where we are.

Wright should go to the ball once he’s crossed the half way line and either foul him or win it back or force him wide.

They need protecting and that’s the midfields job. The less times they are near our box the more clean sheets we will keep. At the minute it is too easy to be onto our back 4

Now we are not at Man City’s level (if only) but they are masters at it. Everyone says peps teams can’t defend but there is no side better in England at protecting their back 4. They foul anyone who gets past one man. They all press together and give away very little. Elite players of course but the principals we can adopt

 

he was running on to the ball, all he needed was a decent connection and he scuffed what should have been a simple clearance whether out for a corner or a throw-in. it had nothing to do with how long he's been out for or lack of fitness but just poor technique and a lack of concentration and ultimately cost us a goal. if we're going to call people out for making simple mistakes then it has to be the same for everyone, not just those we dislike.

i'm a fan of danny devine and actually feel he was given a raw deal under mccall after he started the season well, but he cost us a goal on tuesday - can't hide behind it, it was his mistake.

 

pep always has one who is the master of the dark arts.. he's had busquets, javi martinez and now fernandinho.

I think to be fair to him some lazy Bradford City fans are putting the blame on him. Not sure if it's because he's from a famous family or what.

When you brake it down though he's far from the problem. He was captain and now isn't.

He's played ok in some games but got injured.

Payne, O'Connor, Doyle have been worse mate. All of them a massive let down.

 

Yes O'Connor and Doyle have been poor. Payne is a tryer and put in the effort but is an enigma in how we can fit him in to the team for it's benefit. Imho - Wright has added very little anything to justify his wages. He is poor in getting tackles in, his distribution is poor and has added very little offensively.

 

take 'wright' out of your last two sentences and you could put anyone's name in there.

I think Payne has been a let down. I wanted more from him.

To be fair I didn't expect much from Wright.

 

So, Caddis. I think he's bringing some much needed versatility as well as, hopefully, some know-how because we have none of that at the moment.

Hopkin clearly doesn't trust the players he has and why would he? Hopefully this is akin to Parky's first year when he signed the likes of Rob Kozluk, Marcel Seip who were nothing special but knew what it would take to get the job done.

 

I just don’t understand why they are not grasping this, and furthermore why the captain on the field is not reinforcing it!, I am not sure O’Connor is a good captain, he tends to shout a lot, but he needs to be getting the team to maintain their shape and do what the manager wants. I cannot think for one minute that Hopkin has not drilled into them the importance of tackling in midfield and stopping progress. I still have not got over seeing that film with Wright jogging alongside and allowing him into the box.

Can you imagine Sgt Pepper allowing him to run in undisturbed into the box? he would have stopped him one way or another. Jones likewise, no way would they have let him float nicely into the box and score. Devine is just coming back and will need some time to adjust to the pace and polish his technique. It is one thing in training, quite another in a competitive match.
