I see it's 'cynical city' time again

 

It's not cynical.

He simply doesn't have a choice but to be positive about next season, and try to generate some form of enthusiasm.

But it's very naive IMHO to expect us to be a major force next year.

Bowyer has a massive job on his hands, and it's very unfair to expect him to sign ALL the right players in ALL the right positions to turn an absolutely hopeless side into a promotion chasing side - he won't have too much leeway in the transfer market UNLESS he offloads certain players ASAP, which he won't be able to in all likelihood, so it's setting the poor guy up for a fall.

For me, it's time to be realistic - top half will be an achievement, anything beyond that a huge bonus, and the 2020/21 will be the decider - let's just hope unrealistic fans don't boo yet another manager out of the building when we are indeed losing to supposedly 'lesser' teams (of which there are none).
