Four clubs get relegated from this division every year, most don’t end up like the clubs you mentioned believe it or not.

 

Disappointing yes, but we WILL be promoted next season, have faith we WILL be back.
Put your positive head on, negativity gets you nowhere.

 

The decline of the club is in line with the decline of the city as a whole. There is no way back. Most of us will choose to move away in the near future if we can. Can't see city as a football league club in 10 years time.

 

We've been on the slide since January 1st 2018 but prior to that we were steady and rising for 6/7 years. We'll rebuild this summer and we'll bounce back, whether it takes 1 season or a few.

Let's not forget we narrowly avoided the national league in 2011 and 2012 but then visited Wembley twice in 2013. Things change fast in football and if Bowyer is worth his salt once this terrible season is over we'll see the winds of change come sweeping through like a hurricane.

 

Well that doesn't make this utter failure of a season any easier to take!

The prospect of having to totally revamp the squad once again to face the new challenges of L2 is no easy task to get right at the first attempt and there are certainly far better equipped sides already down there ready and waiting for us!

It's more than likely going to be an awful long haul back from here.

 

Football fortunes can change very quickly I just have a feeling Bowyer is the right guy to turn things round. I thought the atmosphere today was good when you consider where we are it shows that people will get behind the team when it is clear they are giving their all so I am expecting a good season if it can come near the last season we played in league two it will do for me

 

Obviously not, I’m as p1ssed as anyone about the situation. Read the post I was responding too I’m trying to give them some perspective, just because a team gets relegated doesn’t mean they end up like the teams they mentioned, in fact statistically it’s very unlikely.

 

We could or we could go the other way and spend another 6 or 7 years flailing away in the shitpool. No one knows.

 

Fair enough, although statistically and more especially for us, if the situation doesn't get even worse then it's almost certainly going to be an awful long haul back!

 

That I agree with it could take more than one season to go up again, but hopefully not.

 

I notice some are already happy clapping for next season and we haven't even seen the squad for next season. One saving grace is it cannot possibly be worse than this season, i would gladly see any striker upfront next season rather than Doyle and any centre back then NKP. A new left back as well.

 

When Parky took over we had a team described as the worst in the league we just avoided relegation and the club’s extinction then went on to probably our best season for a long time with two trips to Wembley. And we followed that with some good seasons Of course it’s not going to be easy but that experience shows how fortunes can change

 

I really hope that I am wrong, but I can't help but feel that anyone who thinks that we will get promoted next season is deluded, We have far too many miserable and poor players (who no one will take off our hands) contracted. We have a 'temporary' board room and no leadership. I will reserve judgment on the manager and I am glad that we at least have some sort of plan in this regard. All I can see is a battle to stay in the Football League. It is so easy for the club to send out 'Our City' emails and ask for £150. Sure, it is cheap; but so is shit. I have spoken to so many fellow fans recently who have just 'had it' with the club. That is how I feel. The soul was ripped out of a good football club by that idiot Rahic. Just think about the treatment of good folk like Kilgannon and others.

 

The club is not going to continue to decline, get a grip.

We have paid a huge price for Rahic's moronic escapades, we're well and truly screwed for this season, and we'll spend next season trying to put together a competitive side AROUND the dead wood that has been contracted.

But after that, we're good to go.

 

The manner and causes of, this abject season, really are a massive blot on the history of this club. Bury our heads in the sand at our peril, the trapdoor is now very much waiting for us if we fck
things up, again. Do I trust that Rupp and Rhodes can rebuild and re-galvanise this club for a massive season in league two? Hopefully, plenty seem to think they can, though i’m not sure what tangible evidence there is to support this. Some must have forgotten the ordeal we had escaping league two previously and yet talk like we’ll walk it. It’s like the club needs a full formatting and re-boot. Hopefully the owner just doesn’t settle for turning off and then turning on again, in a vain hope that works. Whatever happens, this is probably the lowest i’ve felt about the club, even compared to us flirting with relegation in league two when peter jackson was last here. Normally i’d be planning a trip to one of our final games, not this season.

 

If we are in a promotion battle next season, it's a MASSIVE achievement.

It's very, very unlikely.
