What has Bowyer brought to the party to be positive about? The boos that are ringing around VP at the minute seem a pretty damning statement of what he's created since getting the job. He'll go down in history as the worse manager we've had if he misses out on promotion. He's really alienated the fans and his arrogance is baffling when he's got nothing to be arrogant about?

Genuine question, but should we get promoted this season, would you be happy with Bowyer in L1 next season with his truly abysmal style of football? Because then, the 'promotion at all costs' element doesn't exist in a season where you'd probablyexpect us to just consolidate.

Get what you're saying, but we're talking about whether back a manager long term or not, and the answer is no. The apathy will increase as Bowyer simply employs negative management, his focus is on damage limitation through and through.

    Right now?

Bowyer is going to get the opportunity to right a few wrongs, and that's probably fair, but this is only going to end one way. You want to pull the trigger at the end of the season by the sounds of it. Not a bad idea. Id like to pull it sooner, once we drop out the playoffs and start losing touch.

I'd give another manager the chance when that happens, and I feel that it will. But if it doesn't, I'll keep trudging to VP expecting dire, turgid football against dire, turgid opposition. I'm other words, ****.

If we drop out of and lose contact with the teams in the play offs then I would expect Rupp and Rhodes to take some action. Until that happens I believe GB is producing what his remit is - a team who will get promoted. Whether I think that the manner in which they play is pleasing to the eye and entertaining is an entirely different matter.

I always try and give an honest/genuine answer, so in reply of course I would keep him on why wouldn't I, he's just done what the owner of the club and fans wanted him to get us back into league one.
I wouldn't have thought any right minded fan would want to get rid of the manager who had just completed the task the club asked him to do.
You are forming an opinion that because its been pretty dire recently Bowyer can't get us playing better with the introduction of the likes of Donaldson, Pritchard, Devitt or Ismail, I'd argue with said players back I would expect more pleasing football to the eye, why not ?.

After being messed about for the original fixture date, I got a refund on my match ticket and will watch this on iFollow tonight.

In lieu of the Adnams pub I usually visit pre-match in Colchester, I have a mini cask of Adnams Broadside primed and ready.

    Are you for real?

    - Consistent place in the top 6 all season
    - Second best defence in the league
    - Best home form in the league
    - Challenging for automatic promotion at the first time of asking following our worst season in recent history

If we were sat mid table or below I’d understand some of the calls of underachieving. Thankfully we’re not, and as luck would have it, we’re still placed well despite what I think we all has been a poor past two months.

I’m concerned about the lack of endeavour, movement, innovation, desire from too many of the squad. I also question a lot of Bowyers decisions but sacking him doesn’t cross my mind at this stage.

Tonight is a big test. General morale is low and Bowyer has to find a tune and very quickly. I have optimism when I look at the players due back however these really need to have an instant impact. If they fail to do so I fear we’ll start to see some of that toxic atmosphere creeping back in amongst supporters which I think Bowyer has done an excellent job of eradicating since coming in.

The football has been dire all season, even with Donaldson, Pritchard and Ismail available. It's just more people now notice it because the results have dried up.

But, yes, I would sack him at the end of the season even if we go up. Why? Because like I said, next season, if in L1, the aim will most likely be to consolidate. The budget will not be comparable to other clubs in the division so a promotion push is unlikely. So with nothing to 'achieve' per se, such as a title win, promotion or a play off spot, the onus on the entertainment side of the matchday experience will grow tenfold.

I understand that fans this season don't particularly care about the style and entertainment value so long as the end goal is met and we win promotion. But when there is no end goal like that, are you suggesting that fans will be happy to finish mid table having watched a truly dire and prehistoric brand of football for 46 games? The tolerance level for such 'quality' is wavering enormously now, even in the top 7, there is no chance that anybody will put up with being bored to tears every week simply to finish mid table.

And whilst this season if we go up, ST sales will be fairly healthy, next year garbage football and a mid table finish will only see that number fall.

Not at all nothing a decent run of results won't make right, not sure where you get the idea I want to pull the trigger, I've just replied to @bantam2708@bantam2708 why I would continue with Bowyer especially if he got us up, nobody was saying at the start of this season if Bowyer doesn't deliver a promotion we should sack him, and I would think with a two year contract that's how Rupp and Rhodes saw it.

Well I got the idea you wanted to pull the trigger when you said he needs the chance to get us promoted. Ergo, if he doesn't, he's failed. Is that not what you're saying?

Dynamo couldn’t have magic’ed up a trick for the shower of sh*te of a squad and situation we were in at the end of last season, so think it’s harsh to hold Bowyer accountable for that. Damage was done long before he came in

His arrogance comes from getting Blackpool promoted as he has constantly reminded us its his one and only success
Whilst hating his brand of football I would give him another month and review the situation then some on here are saying they will back Bowyer until he fails to deliver promotion that's too late and condemns us to another season in this awful league
Where as reviewing in Febuary gives a new man the chance to rally the troops ( if needed) and a chance for a promotion push
Either way I think GB should go latest the end of the season imagine what our performances would be like in L1 I shudder to think

You'd still sack Bowyer at the end of the season, even if he got us promoted?
Do you honestly think we'd get someone better in after doing that? Who would want to take over at a club that reward success by getting rid of you?
