No Vaughan for this and the next.
Donaldson won't be risked.
Dread to think how Bowyer will set us up.

'We need to tighten up again'
Well that's it, 10-0-0 formation tomorrow then, backs to the walls performance incoming. Bet they've been working all day on defensive shape and how to stop colchester today too.

On a positive note, maybe we’ll see Devitt having a run out.
On a negative note, it’ll be an 87 minute sub for Akpan when we’re losing one nil
Joking! I’m going for a positive no score draw tonight! -
Like a few others - I expect to see a 5 - 4 - 1 formation.

His post-match comments were "it's a fortress is the Jobserve Community Stadium, one of the toughest places to come to in Europe, maybe in the world. I thought we battled hard and on any other day it would have possibly been 3-2. We were unfortunate not to get a point but we didn't take our chances and they did, that's all there really was to the game. But... well we're going to have to continue to work hard in training as we have to go again on Saturday, where we can hopefully secure a point against a top side in Mansfield."Fordy117 and Tony Wilkinson like this. -

You simply can't have fans chanting 'Your Football is ****', as soon as that came out at Carlisle it needed an immediate remedy, it hasn't been forthcoming, and for me the rot has set in.
Time for the club to be brave.
We are a football club. We only do football, we don't do anything else. There is no alternative. Our sole product cannot be ****.bantam2708 and NorthernMonkey like this. -

Wow, you’re a constant influx of negativity. You actually come across as though you want us to lose to prove yourself right about Bowyer. Try support the team. -

Right now?
Bowyer is going to get the opportunity to right a few wrongs, and that's probably fair, but this is only going to end one way. You want to pull the trigger at the end of the season by the sounds of it. Not a bad idea. Id like to pull it sooner, once we drop out the playoffs and start losing touch.
I'd give another manager the chance when that happens, and I feel that it will. But if it doesn't, I'll keep trudging to VP expecting dire, turgid football against dire, turgid opposition. I'm other words, ****.JudgeMental and Onside like this. -
I wouldn't have thought any right minded fan would want to get rid of the manager who had just completed the task the club asked him to do.
You are forming an opinion that because its been pretty dire recently Bowyer can't get us playing better with the introduction of the likes of Donaldson, Pritchard, Devitt or Ismail, I'd argue with said players back I would expect more pleasing football to the eye, why not ?.Idlebantam and Ollylondonbantam like this. -

But, yes, I would sack him at the end of the season even if we go up. Why? Because like I said, next season, if in L1, the aim will most likely be to consolidate. The budget will not be comparable to other clubs in the division so a promotion push is unlikely. So with nothing to 'achieve' per se, such as a title win, promotion or a play off spot, the onus on the entertainment side of the matchday experience will grow tenfold.
I understand that fans this season don't particularly care about the style and entertainment value so long as the end goal is met and we win promotion. But when there is no end goal like that, are you suggesting that fans will be happy to finish mid table having watched a truly dire and prehistoric brand of football for 46 games? The tolerance level for such 'quality' is wavering enormously now, even in the top 7, there is no chance that anybody will put up with being bored to tears every week simply to finish mid table.
And whilst this season if we go up, ST sales will be fairly healthy, next year garbage football and a mid table finish will only see that number fall. The Evidence and Onside like this.
