Core of the squad next season should be Lewis, Walker and Cook, with maybe Halliday, Stubbs and Gillead...not too bothered by the others..

Look at the teams in league one who are struggling but have a larger fan base than us - Sheff Wed, Derby, Portsmouth, Ipswich etc. They’ve all had more recent success than us and are struggling to get out of the league above. I’d imagine the pressure at Wednesday is a hell of a lot more than Sparks and Rupp are experiencing here. I’d also imagine their facilities and turnover are way above ours. It’s not as simple as throwing money at it, otherwise those clubs mentioned would be challenging for promotion to the premiership. We’re taking tiny steps but we’ve a long way to go.

You only have to use Ipswich as an example of a club burning through money like water. They owed the parent owner over £117 MILLION trying to get out of the CC. Their saving grace Marcus Evans didn’t want it back and sold the club for £40million.
Taken over by three Yanks with £700 MILLION to pizz up the wall.

you actually seen there antics ?????
It’s a club in chaos a club that’s run by clueless owners ............. I will be amazed if there is still a league club there in the next 5 years ffs when did they take over ?????
Last season and for all that they have just about stayed in the football league a fooking epic achievement

Good post but I bet you regret wasting that 10 mins of your life expecting a response. @Fordy117@Fordy117 is as shallow as an evaporating puddle in the Sahara desert. He is as much a business man as I am a Leeds fan.

I certainly does, but it’s how and where you spend it. Herr Rupp isn’t short of a bob or two, but I haven’t seen him parting a few quid in the local pub with the fans. Anyway, I think you know where I’m coming from. Even the “it’s only PR” sceptics, surely can’t help to be impressed by how the club is moving rapidly in the right direction. Look at the WAGAMI guys - on paper much richer than RR, but they’ve made a complete pigs ear of their Crawley takeover.

Anti Rupp brigade do me a favour you know as well as every other Bradford City fans this guy got into purchasing OUR club blind, we talk a lot of due diligence with regard the purchase they wanted to make, yet fail to do the same due diligence with a co-partner (in name only Rahic had no brass) maybe just maybe if he had taken more time out to run a few back ground checks over Edin like he did WAGMI we wouldn't be where we are today.
He's doing the right thing by us because it was through his lack of understand why we are in our present predicament, for months people were trying to tell him the situation at OUR club and he basically waved it away and continued backing Rahic, I know it's not liked by some on here but if it was not for John Dewhirst and another Bradford City fan being allowed to have a one on one with Rupp God know where OUR club could have been.
I have been told many times Rupp he is a very honourable I have no doubts he is, one a guy who was owed money run up by Edin and his family, Rupp wanted to recompense his business but the Bradford City mad fan wouldn't allow him to do so, so he left his staff a very big tip shall we say, so for me he is trying to put right Edins wrongs, which untimely were his reasonability as the owner, but far from anti Rupp he's here until some one meets his valuation of OUR club.

Also seems like you are blaming him for not meeting your expectations.

as an aside here is his statement on Rahic leaving,

“The time for change has come and this marks the beginning of a new chapter for the club,” said Rupp.

“The people of Bradford deserve much, much better.

“I will do everything in my power to wash away the dreadful memories of the last 12 months and consign them to the history books for good.

“I have invested significantly in the club over the past two seasons and will continue to do so.“

Do you think his plan was to relegate the club and spend £3,000,000 over budget? To me it looks like he is glad to see the back of Rahic.

The only thing Rupp did wrong was to let Edin do what he wants and for a successful businessman that was fooking poor indeed .......... it’s like me pumping £5 million into a club and allowing a bloke I hardly know run it ............ surly a businessman would be all over it ?????

there was various stages that he should have been all over Edin
    Parky leaving
Our sudden fall from play off contenders to midtable crap
    Collins being appointed

god knows what would have happened had City fans not intervened ............ still let’s get it right the Twit ( Edin) conned us all when numbers should have dropped when he failed to back McCall they didn’t .............when he promised us a new head coach and he brought in a yes man the numbers stayed the same

and let’s be right had we beat Millwall then that rat Edin may have walked away with millions so there is that to be thankful about ...........

Like I have said in loads of occasions Rupp has made errors but he cannot be blamed for this season if we fail that’s down to Hughes and nobody else

I know we have a habit of conceding late goals, but last week the bigger problem was the lethargy and lack of urgency shown in the first half. Oh, and the e fannying about at goal kicks.
Had we played like we did second half, we’d have been out of sight in the last minute.
Until we are capable of showing intensity for more than 45 minutes we won’t succeed.
Sutton on Easter Monday aside, we’ve rarely performed for the full 90 minutes

Yes I would agree with that. That is partially down to the players, as well as the recruitment and way the team is set up (Leyton Orient use a 4-2-3-1 system).

Trying to lay it all at Hughes feet, is wholly unfair.

A lot of the squad are on two year deals, so nearly half way through. A new Manager is still going to have to work with a similar group, bar a few additions. I just don't see the value in starting again.

One of the things we are stuck with at Valley Parade are the pitch dimensions. At 64 metres/70 yards wide (Orient 73 metres/ 80 yards; Northampton 66 metres/ 72 yards; Stockport 66 metres/72 yards; Salford 68 metres 74 yards), then it is quite narrow and more so than most of our rivals.

Consequently the players do not have as much space/time and the opposition can close them down more quickly.

I must admit I am not in favour of passing it round the back. Better distribution of the long ball is something we could work on.

That is a great summary of what happens next, this should go straight to the manager and board as the plan for next season.

As you say, Eisa & Cook are OOC in the summer. Costelloe, Nevers, Banks & Perreira will go back so we could start the summer with Oliver, Derbyshire, Walker & Chapman. Presumably Young would go back out on loan.
If we're down to four forwards, there's plenty of scope for adding to the ranks.

His contract ends in summer 24, for me it’s a simple case of no promotion next season then we go out separate ways. If we’re doing poor in December then I’d sack him then and give someone a chance at a January window in preparation for summer 2024.
