Former Director and board member Michelle Harness bought Scunthorpe United recently.

Now she's looking to buy the ground back from former owner Peter Swann.

Looks like their league campaign is going pretty well too, and could be back in the Conference next season.

As a Peterborough resident and fan of Peterborough Sports. Seeing what Jimmy Dean could do with a club like ours would be very interesting.
Jimmy is blood and thunder but loves attacking, pressing football and the fans embrace him.
If we’d appointed someone like him it’d been up in arms here but the results for me would have been very interesting

 

Well it's worth what anyone is willing to pay for it, and that figure is closer to 10m than 5m let's just say that.

Yes seen that last week when trying to establish who owns what. Other than I established there are several third party owners, it’s clear it’s not in the clubs ownership. A complex agreement RT? Maybe explains why the alleged £20m sale to a 20 year old who has tons of money (NOT) , is taking so long.

Football doesn't half attract the Billy bullshitters when it comes to investment. All looking for a quick buck then flit just before the authorities start investigating.

 

Enlightening and extremely shocking , glad you read it . These fly by night investors are a clear warning to those who seem to want a new owner at any cost. At least Wigan Athletic dodged that bullet.

I doubt many will read it , shame really.

 

I knew about the Worcester Warrior shambles as I'd researched it as it was such a basket case, even down to selling off car park spaces. Shame as the club before had been built up to what it was by a man who had a genuine love for the club before I think he passed away. The fact they are even mentioned at all at Morecambe absolutely stinks. Same with the original guy at Bury, I think he was called Steven Dale if I remember. Had a documented history of acquiring businesses then bankrupting them. There are some genuine good owners in football, such as the family at Preston as an example, but more often than not they are either certified insane or crooked. Or both in some cases lol.

 

That’s spot on, and nobody would or could ever demand you sell it either.

 

To add, reminds me of William Storey of 'Rich Energy' fame, the company that keeps trying to buy football clubs, formerly Sunderland and lately Reading. Doesn't seem to have anything behind him financially, a fantasist who was involved with sponsoring a formula 1 team until it all went belly up.

 

It’s worth is governed by what the owner wants and this is no fire sale. Like many when they come up

Yes oddly I did when I was reading about the character trying to buy Wigan and Morecambe .

Danson has also purchased Wigan ATHLETIC .

He’s more than a multimillionaire , he’s a Billionaire.

What I don’t get is all these smaller clubs attracting wealthy owners , Wrexham, Gillingham FGR etc if I was looking to invest in a club in the lower leagues we are ready made for investment and building of infrastructure and a big fan base already buying tickets and merchandise.
There must be something fundamentally wrong to put off investers
