The whole thing is utterly depressing and it's exactly why I refused to buy an ST this season - nothing to do with COVID. Theres nothing about this club that inspires hope that the future is going to get any better. In fact I think it's more likely to get worse.

Remember, McCall didn't ask to come back. The club, Jr and Rupp, asked him to come back. And this is Bradford City, he isn't ever going to say no to the club he loves. -

Firstly I think it comes down to money usually but everyone is skint at the moment so I can't see that being a major issue.
After that it will come down to the manager convincing the player (and the club if it's a loan) that we're the place to be but it's not happening.
People saying it's because we're a basket case run club and I disagree, we're just rudderless, but that direction can come from the manager. Remember we were a true basket case back in 2011 - Peter Jackson and Archie Christie falling out with Lawn - but within a month of being appointed Parkinson had got Andrew Davies in on loan. It can be done.Bronco likes this. -

Yes I can relate to much of what he posts we dont always agree maybe because were of a similar age and with regards Bradford City we have both gone through the mill with them as have others who I normally agree with.bantamdave41 likes this. -

That approach is also one reason for our lack of direction and progress. A manager fails and is replaced by a new manager with different ideas. He replaces half the squad, intoduces his own ideas and if he fails, he is replaced by another with his own ideas and the roundabout goes round and round. Occasionally, we strike lucky and one manager lasts a little longer, introducing his own vision, a consistent way forward and it earns us some success. And then he leaves and the roundabout starts to go round and round once again.
And we never learn. So much so that we re-engage a former manager with his own ideas and hope that is the way to success. But guess what? It isn't! That will continue to be our future without better leadership from the top. Whether Rupp and JR can provide what is needed in leadership is unfortunately highly questionable.trevor likes this. -

There are plenty of basket case clubs that never struggle to sign players.
I think there's way more to it than that. -

"The Valley Parade Crowd" is far too intimidating for home and away players alike.
