Nonsensical comments from Bowyer, I think he really has lost the plot.

 

I don't think it's accurate what he's said but remember last season when Hopkin was getting slaughtered for publicly slaughtering his players by people on here? It's a tough gig is management and clearly you can't please everyone....

 

He could make life easier for himself by just being honest. If he came out and said something along the lines of 'its very early in the season, we've had a big turnover of players and we've tried a few different systems to get a sense of what might work and what won't. That's probably not helped the players in turns of finding rhythm but we're planning over the longer term and the players also have a responsibility to perform in whatever system we play. We're rapidly approaching a point whereby the players have all been given an opportunity and we need to settle on a more consistent way of playing. No one can say they haven't been given a chance'.

That, I could buy into.

I don't disagree but on the flip said of that he'd get the ''GB doesn't know what he's doing comments''.

 

He's getting much more of that with the way he's going about it.

 

He's going to get that anyway based on the poor performances and results. However he can try not insult the fans' intelligence in the process.

 

Accurate or not, at full time GB was laughing and joking with his opposite number as if he didn't have a care in the world.

After drawing and in fact being outplayed for 45 minutes by a team with 3 successive 5 0 defeats and full of teenagers I'd be absolutely raging!

The celebrations after the penalties and the fist pumping by a few of the players was equally embarrassing.

 

You're overestimating the intelligence of our fanbase.

 

Totally agree faithful. He'd definitely win a few fans back over by just admitting he's tinkering until he gets a formation that is good for us, but instead would rather make excuses that just infuriate the fans even more

It can only be 1 of 2 things (or both):

1. GB knows what the fans are demanding but is of the "i'm the gaffer and I make the decisions" mentality. In other words, a stubborn bastard who would rather cut off his nose to spite his face
2. He is tactically inept, and is simply out of his depth, even in L2

I'm sick to death of people glossing over it, saying he'll come good, its early days, and he once took Blackpool up a league. Wake up apologists, all i'm interested in is how he performs for us, which so far has been far from impressive

In fairness, we hit the post twice, had one harshly disallowed, had one cleared of the line and missed a raft of decent second half chances. Then there was their goal that had a good slice of fortune.

I know I sound like parkbantam here but on another day we would have won that comfortably.

Having said that, I fully agree it's not good enough and a settled system and side need to be found urgently.

Good post 1976, to be honest we were on a hiding to nothing last night. I agree GB is not helping himself with some of his comments but I think it might just be who he is and he might be a bit of a fruitcake! Lets be honest you only have to look at the wide range of criticisms on here to realise whatever he says he cant possibly appease everyone.
Someone on here said the players were embarrassing by over celebrating the penalty shoot-out win, seriously there are times when they just cant win. Bolton were up for it last night (kids or not), the fans were boisterous because of what has happened at their club - I think footballers should celebrate ANY win, if they just slouched off they would be damned for not appearing to care.

 

Good god, a proportionate, well measured appraisal of the situation posted on here. Whatever next.
