Yeah, it is completely understandable. I hope Pritchard can reproduce what he did tonight against senior opposition. It was a promising performance indeed and thought he was a bit unlucky not to score as well as set up our header, with his goal chalked off

 

Because he was nowhere near man of the match, i think it was the Oldham game. The over reaction to what was in reality a bang average performance was laughable. He genuinely isn't good enough for this level.

Who stood out in that game? We won 3 0 largely due to an early goal, getting fortunate for 20 minutes, then taking over in midfield.

Whether he is good enough for the level has nothing to do with whether he was MOTM at Oldham or not.

How can it be that absurd when the performance from everyone was distinctly average?

 

Except that has been by L1 teams. You know, ones currently much much better than us. It’s painful to say that, but it’s true.

We’re a L2 team yet to find it’s feet properly in the division and yet to turn in a convincing 90 mins, who made several changes to our league team (the one that has still to be convincing) for this fixture.

So why were we expecting to steamroller them again?

Poor result? Yeah OK I’ll just about go with that. But it’s a fixture that means virtually nothing to anyone, ultimately. Some of our squad players got game time and if we’re clinical, we’d still have won it comfortably in the end. @JonButterfield is right, it was a glorified friendly.

Using this as another stick to beat Bowyer with is a bit pointless IMO.

Jesus christ. We were playing a group of children who were Bolton's youngest side ever to represent them and we got anhialated for 45 minutes of the gameIt was a truly embarrassing watch and the fact we could only muster a draw against them shows how poor we currently are. Whatever competition this was, it was a first team fixture with a first team squad, of which 7 who played tonight also featured at the weekend, so I'm not sure why you're glossing over this.

First half was shocking agreed. Second half was much improved. Quite impressed with some of Bolton’s players.

 

Maybe because it was a bit of a celebration game for them - takeover complete, new manager in the stands, new owners present. Look at the game in the context of all that and you won’t get so upset with yourself.

Im not one of those wanting him out but he needs criticizing for starting Anderson and the negative Devine in the same midfield. We were outplayed by them in the first half and had a lack of desire. That’s just not good enough.

We did, to Bowyer’s credit, perk up in the 15 mins after HT, seemingly after they were given a rocket up the backside, before he took off Donaldson and Pritchard (probably our MOM) after that I think we all knew Sat was our real target.

We were odds of 2/9 to win this game and they were 11/1. Us not winning has to go down as a big flop.

It isn’t the end of the world as we know we’ve better players to come in, but it did highlight the lack of quality we have recruited in the backup positions. Seemingly the budget was stretched so its a reality check as much as anything, as we pay the price for Edin going crazy last summer.

 

So off the field issues means we shouldn't perform and let Bolton roll us over? Confused with that one BL. They were school kids.

The basic fact is that we couldn't beat a team average age 19 who have been totally demoralized in the last few weeks things have to improve starting on Saturday against Northampton or even more fans will turn on Mr Bowyer

Said it a few weeks ago - Richards-Everton will end up our best signing of the season.

I know strikers score goals, win games and win all the individual trophies but Ben could prove to be the signing that pulls the rest of the team together.
