Not interested in the result but always good to win.

What has impressed me so far is that the club has got its planning right. Look Bowyer and Adams were dreadful managers for us but Hughes seems to understand what is required.

Playing Derby and Sunderland at home in a pre season will help massively get the new players use to playing at VP. Yes, we might not have 17k- 18k fans there but one of our failings over recent years is getting the players to perform at home because some of them are like a rabbit in a headlight.

If we get our home form right then we stand a chance. Seems like the lads are doing ok in pre season and building their fitness. It vital we get out of the blocks fast this time and pick up wins from the start.

I don’t assume anything tbh. The fact that they provided the feed on their TV station tells me it’s their kit?

I agree in principle and I'll be very surprised if Angol gets a double digit haul. I'm not convinced in Angol, in his time at City or his historical goalscoring records.

Cook could be a really important player in any success next season but just, what will his role be, assuming Oliver will lead the line?

Angol had a poor game against Derby and apparently last night. He was our best player against York the main thing is he is getting the minutes in. He is going to be an important player for us.

The Sunderland commentators said at half time they were having technical problem, I'd assume it was there cameras etc.

Scouts shouldn’t need to look at Cook - every club in the bottom two divisions will know all about him, he’s been around for years and everyone knows what he’s all about.

Well, we don't know for sure do we? I don't think we can conclude anything from the commentators saying they were having problems. They would say that whoever's kit was being used. The fact that it's happened a few times on feeds from VP suggests to me it's our problem, either cameras or something else.

As they have a subscription to watch all Sunderland games I'd think it would be there own gear, imagine turning up at an away ground and the cameras had been tampered with.
Your right I don't know for sure but with a set up like that I wouldn't think they rely on other clubs equipment.

We got out of the ‘blocks’ fast last season! What we failed to do was sustain the momentum!

Look where Bristol Rovers were at the same point(20th). Port Vale were 17th! Even Exeter had a fairly lacklustre start and were mid table.

Where we are at the end of October will be a better indication as to how the season could progress.

I just heard their half time comment trying to do two things at once which obviously men can't do.

That was until the injuries kicked in . This year we have far more strength in depth

I might for 10 games. Teams like Salford, Rovers and Tranmere were always going to improve. Problem with us is that we always seemed to go backwards. We need an really good start because we will have a dip at some point.

Yes, we need to be able to sustain momentum.

With belief as high as it is currently for some we can start the season off poorly.

Cook leaving would put us at risk though as Angol is an injury risk, Harrat could get recalled. Big hypothetical but we could have just Oliver come January.
Keeping Cook and managing squad rotation will be the way forward for Hughes.
Unless we get offered a decent fee and can bring someone else in

FGR had a good start last year and if we replicate that, it is points in the bag. If we tail off a bit, we now have the ability and depth to deal with it. Look at our squad last year; so many home games, we battered teams, scored and sat back. Had we carried on, won a few of them rather than drawn, we could have made po's even with that squad. Top3 is achievable and the likes of Swindon, Orient, Mansfield. Northampton and Stockport will all feel the same but I do feel Mark has been looking long and hard with the 5 sub rule in mind.
