Totally agree with you about renewals next season. Even I’m bored of going after almost 40 years, it’s painful to see my 16 year old daughter fed up at games, don’t think it’s long before she wants to do something else on a Saturday.

I don’t expect a Divine right to go straight back up but I expect some sort of entertainment and it’s been sadly lacking for too long

Like you I believe if this season is another poor affair then many fans will not renew next year

In that sense this season is a huge one for the club both on and off the pitch

Based on what? I’ve genuinely not seen Devine have a decent game for years, not sure what’s happened as when he started the season under McCall he looked the real deal. As for now, he’s no better than Akpan, Devine was at fault against Bolton too, shambolic 10 yard pass.

 

Throughout his career Anthony O'Connor has played 57 times as a CDM. 4 goals 2 assists too from that position.

Henley has never played there.

Longridge has played there 3 times.

AOC would be the best bet I think with POC taking his place at the back.

 

The reason I'd play Devine over Akpan is that he's younger and with that comes effort and desire plus the chance he may well improve with game time. Akpan for me is a complete lost cause and is now bottom of the pile.

Better after the subs. Ismail needs to start on the right and Devine simply isnt good enough. If there are any free agent midfielders out there, we need em.

Oh, and their numbers 5 and 6 can f*ck right off. Plus their keeper.

 

What struck me is the difference in energy levels between the first and second half. I'd love to see them start a match at the tempo they started the second half.

 

Result better than the performance, enjoyed the effort from Dylan and Pritchard and Ismail when he came on.
Will he stick with two out wide next week away from home as our central players are so weak?

The sending off, how do you get two yellow cards when their player has grabbed Zeli by the neck?
Ref unaware of what went on with no help from a lino.

 

Interesting how quite a bit of the interview was about how GB apparently influenced the ref for the second half. Like feck he did. The ref was equally as shit for the whole of the second half as he was the first.

 

Shaking hands with the ref to waste time is fantastic shithousery too. He’s never going to book you for good sporting conduct

By the refs logic every corner would result in 5-6 yellows, always plenty of shirt pulling on a set piece. There’d be no one left on the pitch. No excuse for this sort of ref, it’s not as if he gave any team an advantage until the red, but he was useless all round for both teams. Curle’s comments are laughable that Bowyer influenced the ref at half time, can’t remember him favouring us. If Klopp made a comment like that in the Prem he’d be fine £100k.

 

Question to all at the game today (or watched on iFollow): Do you think our players are theatrical and play actors to win refereeing decisions? Personally I don't think we are, not compared to other teams especially, but Northampton fans think we are..

"To be fair Bradford were very good second half, and we missed our two golden chances. I think KC's first two substitutions were good. Williams had played well but wasn't winning anything in the air so Oliver's physical presence seemed a good bet. It didn't work that well but it seemed a logical thing to do. I certainly didn't understand the last change because bringing on another defender just invited more pressure.

Having said all that part of Bradford's pressure was due to the fact that the ref was extremely lenient with Bradford's playacting (first half) and blatant fouls in central defence throughout the match - not a single foul was given against the defenders marking Williams and Oliver. I spotted at least 7. This makes a huge difference. Firstly it means you don't keep the ball in an attacking position, allowing the opposition to come straight back at you. Secondly, it means the defenders just keep fouling because they know they are going to get away with it."

But, in fairness to them, they are not big fans of Curle at all and do not like his tactics:
