Say City buy an 'adequate' replacement NOW for circa £500k ? Come 1st week in Aug take the best offer for City and CW, and live with the disappointment of it not being £750k+ (But more than £500k) ?

He seems to have a good agent who looks to be building his career quite nicely. £250k release clause at Carlisle and now another deal, at below market value due to the time remaining on his current contract. He’ll probably set the next deal up at a club where, if he continues to score goals, he’ll be in another win, win situation. 2 years at Preston could possibly give him the best platform to push on again.

That’s true, but at the end of year 2 he’ll be in the same situation he’s in now.

 

Have some of you watched him he's not good enough for the championship no pace very little movement in the box and rarely scores outside 8 yards he's nearly at his peak here

He’s done very well considering we never played to his strength. When you sign a goal scorer you don’t try and convert him into hold up striker. At Carlisle he scored a hatful because the side focused on his strengths. At championship clubs he’ll get that service with better players.

 

I agree he plays to deep I actually think he is better playing off another striker rather than target man

 

He's better than some on here give him credit for. He deserves a crack at the championship.

The fact that is contract is nearing its end is bollax.
If he goes on the cheap it’s because he has been a Twit.
I don’t think we will get better and I don’t think Rahic will let him go for much under a mil.
He’s many things but when it comes down to it he is a businessman and not an idiot.
Surly he reaslise he can offer a good contract with good wages and get a better price in January. Or keep him and have ambition.
Offering wyke a good deal is in the clubs interest on every front

 

He defiantly looked better when he played the last few games along side Kai who did most of the physical stuff.
Thats not to say I think Kai is good enough to be a starter.

 

I think you're dreaming if you're hoping for seven figures. He's got a year left on his contract. If we get £750k or above we've done well.

 

The way transfers are going at the moment its not as if he will have to wait long for his move. With Sunderland he will be moving back home not that he is that far away at the moment. Sunderland could be great to play for if they turn themselves around. The opposite could happen though. Could offer him a contract with a release clause of 1.5mill

 

He won't be getting it signing for Sunderland, and it looks like they are front runners mate, although I can understand him perfering Sunderland and going back to the North West.

 

Looks like it, just sick of reading some of the crap on here about Wyke, ‘He’s not good enough, he went on strike, he’s lazy etc.’

 

I'm fairly sure McNulty only had 1 year left on his contract at Coventry too.
