Not sure that's the problem we have seen in the past if these guys are allowed to express themselves they can play its Hughes and his bloody pathetic system to blame.

Take off our most creative player after we equalise and they were rocked-absolutely stunned at that decision.

    Sums our season up really.

It doesn't matter who we sign or what position they play. Those God awful tactics of Mark Hughes will hamper and hinder them and us as a team.

    The season summarised:
Lewis : Good shot stopper. Distrubtion has been shit last 3 months. Judging by their 3rd goal, its evident to see why he's in League Two
Halliday : Im not a fan. Said it from the get go an got pelters. We need an upgrade
Stubbs : Decent enough defender. Needs fast players around him to cover his lack of pace, something we dont have
Crichlow : Promising player. Id sign him.
Platt : Standard LG2 CB. Could improve, might not, lets see
Ridehalgh : Upgrade this guy. please. He's not good enough. How have we gone from having James Meredith 10 years ago to this

Gilliead : Covers the hard yards but has no end product an doesn't like passing forward
Smallwood : The less I say the better
Clayton : Short term passing is good, but his legs have clearly gone
East : The one CM I actually rate in this team, an Hughes never plays him

Chapman : Give him a full season on the left, an lets see what he can do
    Osadabe : A bit of a donkey
    Costelloe : headless chicken
    Nevers : Dogshit
Perriera : Your guess is as good as mine
Walker : Good player but not effective enough, then again, when hes one of 3 attacking players in the team, its kind of hard to do shit
Banks : The best winger weve had in years. Raw but isn't afraid to be inventive
Cook : I wish you luck wherever you go. The best striker we've had at this club since Wells
Oliver : Good target man. Shame we never actually used him in this role, we'd bring him on an then pass the ball around the back for ages
Derbyshire : Good squad player to have

Hughes : Tactics are dog shit. Play is predictable. The team is sooo slow, Steven Hawking could outpace it. Makes daft substitions at the worst of times, and predictable ones at the best of em. Refuses to acknowledge that his setup isnt working and wont change it till the 70th minute. Also has a habit of keeping fatigued players on the pitch. Insists on having the entire team sit back when winning, or more oddly enough, drawing. Plays the slowest midfield in the history of man. Comes out with some bullshit excuses when we lose, even though we all saw it coming

Onto next season. If he can buy 3 solid midfielders, some attacking full backs, a couple of good wingers, an deploy a system where our sole striker isn't isolated as if hes on fecking Antarctica, then I might have some hope about getting promoted

Sparks and Rupp have given Hughes every thing he needed to suceed this season.

Negative tactics, poor home form and inability to hold on to the points in injury time.

WTF was he thinking bring Platt on for Banks.

That's the only possible excuse I can find for Smallwood's level of performance this season. But, even so, a player who's played for twelve seasons in the Championship and was Captain of a Championship side last season should have been capable of so much more than we've seen. I expected a player who would boss the midfield and be a real leader, but he did neither of those things. It even took him over half a season to work out how to get the ball in the middle of the penalty area from corners, which is inexcusable for such an experienced player.

Gillingham at home just a few weeks before that game. We brought Platt on in the 90th minute and conceded 6 minutes later. Pretty much ended any realistic attempt at the autos.

I don’t think that I could disagree with a post more.
We needed to win that game and the fact that you say Hughes was trying to draw it and take it to penalties stinks of his negativity.
We had them on the ropes for the first time in the tie when we scored. They literally sank to their knees and he surrendered the initiative immediately with that substitution. There is simply no defending it and I can’t believe that anyone would try.
Bringing a third CB on was a sub that failed numerous times throughout the season when we conceded late goals - Gillingham at home springs to mind straight away.

I'm not too bothered despite a loss, it was a poor two legs from us Carlisle deserved it, younger, fitter, stronger and wanted it more.

Hughes has a lot to learn, we are not trying to stay up in a league beyond us, we are trying to get out of a league we should be no where near.

Thankfully we have a chance to start again with central midfield.
I do think we will try and sign Banks and Critchlow up permanently. I wouldn’t be surprised if we went back for Wright now Plymouth have gone up.
I’d fully expect us to bring in a new left back and someone to offer competition to Halliday.
I think we will offer Cook 12 months but I’d be looking to somehow ditch Oliver and bring in someone who will actually chip in with goals.
All the out of contract players bar Cook I’d be letting go but I do think Gilly will be offered new terms. I don’t want to see ever see a midfield 3 of Gilly, Clayton and Smallwood again.

Hindsight is great but let's be right we've come up short more than once this season.
We have never really been good enough over 90 minutes.
Today's game was no different to every game I've been to this season.
Today was the icing on the cake.
Hughes interview was absolutely predictable he never ever takes the blame, stubborn is his middle name.

We will never know. As you stated Banks would have given Carlisle something to worry about especially after just creating a goal. It was such a negative substitution and essentially sent the message that we were defending for penalties. It gave all the incentive to Carlisle to come at us. A few minutes later it was game over and our most creative player was off the pitch. Madness.

Yep i felt over both the games with Orient, that they have a similar playing style to us, but they are just far better at it. Pace and movement in abundence whereas w
He said Banks was tired but even if that was the case the assist would have given him an extra yard and there waa only 15 mins left. The argument doesnt hold water anyway as he replaced him with a defender! He had Nevers and Pereira on the bench. Neither have been great but at least it would have been like for like

Naming Pereira as a sub recently and not even thinking about using him has been very bizarre indeed

This would be just about forgiveable had Derbyshire's goal given us the lead in the tiebut to offer them the prospect of penalties at worst and the chance to attack with impunity and no risk of conceding was utterly pathetic. This one is on him.

Our season has been hugely influenced by an anomaly in terms of a striker who hit a freak purple patch and a goalkeeper who won us around 20-30 points across the piece.
