HI all , relieved Gas ed here .luckiest 3 points ever, thought you deserved to win the game , played some good stuff and fought to the bitter end, I know its looking bleak for you now and can't understand how you find yourselves bottom of table after usually being near the top, what s happened since the days of McCall? We have been poor all season but are somehow managing to scrape wins and points together, goes to show you don't always get what you deserve in this game, Good luck what ever league you in next season ,sure you will rise again, like your number 10 and 17(why was 17 subbed looked dangerous to me) and g/k distribution excellent to wide men, all the best from lucky Brizz!

just seen the goals back, poor defending and switching off for all three. story of our season really..

1st; can't really see who was marking who at corners but you can see that when the ball comes into the box, clarke-harris, has pulled on to chicksen and NKP is looking around aimlessly. so it appears either (a) NKP has switched off and clarke-harris has lost him or (b) poor planning from management for set pieces if chicksen has been asked to pick up clarke-harris. i'd imagine it's (a).

2nd; ollie clarke drifts in from left-hand side away from jack payne. scannell is tracking the lad he's just put two tackles in on and payne just switches off without a clue of what's around him. payne's been hit and miss when on the ball lately but he's shocking defensively - completely disinterested and switches off. but it's also up to scannell to be talking to payne and letting him know what's going on around him. still payne should have been aware.

3rd; couple of errors. caddis allows his winger an easy carry forward and then jumps in, completely taking himself out of the game. either engage early away from goal or push him down the line and wide. don't let him get an easy cross in - which is what going to ground does. he's in a difficult situation though as the full-back is overlapping. engage too early and it's a easy overload. again from the angle it's difficult to see who clarke-harris has pulled away from but he's given far too much room in the box.

poor all round really.

If anyone’s interested specifically in a view on today’s game, in isolation, here’s my take:

OD - 6. Not much he could do with the goals, but he could’ve maybe somebody better to prevent the corner for their first. Doesn’t command his box anywhere near well enough
Caddis - 6. Full of energy in the first half and got forward well. Poor in the second half though
POC - not as commanding as last week, but there’s something there. Could be worth keeping
NKP - 5. Gets and extra point for his goal but defensively he couldn’t live with Johnson-Clarke
Chicksen - 4. Shocking. Tentative in possession and weak defensively. Bullied in anything physical
Butterfield - 6. Near and tidy but badly needs a ball winner next to him
Wright - 4. Typical of what we saw early season - easy sideways passes interspersed with the occasional, needless Hollywood ball to gift possession away. And can’t tackle.
LOB - 6. Full of endeavour and took his goal well, but poor use of the ball in the final third
Scannell - 7. Had a good game before fading, as you’d expect. Showed us how badly we’ve missed anyone with pace and the ability to get behind teams
Payne -7. Thought he was good first half before fading in the second
Doyle - 4. Gash. Needs to go.

All in all, you can see glimpses of what Bowyer is trying to do, he just doesn’t have the players.

 

switched off when we got the 'we'll dust ourselves down and go again next week' line. Wish i had a quid for each time that has been trotted out this season .

Glad we've got an honest assessment of this afternoon. Listening to Thornton, it sounded like Chicksen was prime Roberto Carlos and NKP had Clarke Harris in his pocket.

@Faithful Bantam is wanting a god like performance which isn't going to happen any bradford losers City.

 

I haven't a clue what Bowyers trying to do and to be fair to him I don't think he has with "The lot" that he is has taken on. Certainly his record of six defeats on the spin stands as one of the worst in my 40 odd years watching City !. He's a lot to do in very little time and Id say he needs to get started like "yesterday" so he has his stamp over his chosen squad by July And straight into it in August. Otherwise a"Nice guy" just won't be sufficient to see him past November. ?. Lincoln set out what the demand is for the biggest club slumming around in the rump end of the FL and that's 4 defeats all season ! He needs to get on with the job and get on with it now !' Any one of us could take the team for the "last rites" of this season Bowyers got better stuff to be getting on with !
