You can tell who is on benefits just by walking around?

Fortunately, most Bradfordians are proud of its cultural diversity.

Opposite Girlington Morrison’s there’s dozens of Czech / Slovaks drinking beer outside Ladbrokes from dawn til dusk, every day.

Similar story round Little Horton, Southfield Lane, top end of Leeds Road.

All these areas are run down shitholes full of benefit scroungers.

Its more embarrassing that 6 years after winning youre pointing fingers at remainers instead of showing us where all these benefits of brexit are.

Also embarrassing that you say remainers are nasty and generalise about brexiteers being thick yet you can somehow see an EU benefits scrounger whilst walking around the streets. Shows how much a whopper you are.

I don’t even think you yourself know what point you’re trying to make, let alone anyone else..

Whom exactly am I pointing fingers at, and over what? It’s only remainers who are keeping this thread / any general Brexit debate going with their constant whinging.

The biggest benefit to Brexit to most brexiteers is having sovereignty and independence. It’s called patriotism. It’s fine if you’re not patriotic and would rather be in the same umbrella as Czechs and Slovaks, but many patriotic Brits are happy with merely leaving the EU - we don’t need additional benefits to prove it’s the right move.

(ps - Try respond without childish insults, for once)

OK you triggered me well done...

I insult you because you insult me with your xenophobic insults about people in Girlington. Its proper insulting to anyone who said "not all brexiteers are xenophobic" when clearly you are. And to suggest im not patriotic is as foolish as suggesting you know who is and isnt on benefits by simply passing them in the street.

Patriotism BTW is wanting the most power possible for your country in order to survive and flourish more than others. Patriots put their pride to the side and use their sensibilities. In terms of the EU, the intelligent patriots realised that throughout our glory days we punched above our weight due to our empire. After we lost the empire we had to find a way to project our power in another way and being the pseudo most powerful member of the EU we had that way. Germany and france are strong but we had the economic clout plus the military clout and the commonwealth on our side. It was a strong position to be in as we head into the mid decades of this century when war, famine, geopolitical upheaval is going to make the last century look like a breeze.

Sure if I was an simple minded patriot like you id think that we are good enough to avoid any of the bad times to come because we are well good cos we are british and that. In the same way we want england to do well at football, we dont often look at the true odds of success we just have a blind optimism and a degree of exceptionalism. That base dumb as shite patriotism and loyalty, much like being a bradford city fan, doesnt bring any success. When it comes to life and death stuff like geo politics I just have to think about what is best for a 60 million strong nation in a bear pit with nations who have over a billion, 800 million or 500 million (now on our doorstep).

Then there was the cool benefits of being in the EU like freedom of movement. Nobody ever stole a job I had and those many europeans I worked with taught me a lot and worked often much harder than their UK counterparts. I think the EU is a bit soft when it comes to ridiculous laws such as cookie notices etc. but mainly gets it right when it comes to trade and enriching its members.

If brexit works in some way im too stupid to understand then I will be happy to admit i was wrong. If we are in some way able to match the power to buy, the global power and the exploitation the english language had on business and inward investment. Then yes doing it alone is much better as any unilateralism often is. It just cant happen due to the laws of numbers.

If on the other hand a brexit doesnt work I cant see you much saying the same about rejoining.

Why is politics a thing on a football team forum that we all have a common ground on. Politics is a load of bollocks, and all politicians are a self serving load of narcissists and all it does is cause arguments. All I’d say is a revolution is needed to sort it all out as no part right now can sort out fuel, illegal immigration, energy bill etc issues out. Power to the people as they say!

Its a simple fact that we are stronger been in Europe but not in the EU, We are still paying for our exit but as time goes on we will become even stronger. The EU is virtually bankrupt and the Euro plummeting and without been able to use the UKs economic strength to bail them out they are in trouble, We are well shut of them

How far do you take that view?

If, hypothetically, it became blindingly obvious , even to Brexiteers, in a few years time that Brexit had caused serious damage to our economy, public and health services and the standard of living of ordinary people, would you still think it was worth it just because you can say we're independent and patriotic?
This is a genuine question - I'm not trying to be provocative. I'm genuinely interested in how bad things would have to get before the intangible concepts of sovereignty, independence and patriotism lose their appeal compared to acceptable living standards in an economically advanced country.

Does the article not say it's an issue with the staffing or am I dreaming that?

Yes. But we have put ourselves in the unenviable and ridiculous position of relying on France to provide sufficient staff to process all the people wanting to cross the border.

Imagine if the process were reversed - if France unilaterally decided to end a previously frictionless border process and then demanded that we send enough border officials across the channel to ensure that French people weren't enduring long queues to cross to Britain. There would be hell on over here! Brits would be saying, "how dare the arrogant French tell us to bottle up our resources to get them out of a problem of their own making? Let the buggers queue". Anyone who says that's untrue is lying or delusional.

Precisely. We have created a problem that never existed before and are expecting the French to solve it for us. Ridiculous.

Who's telling the truth the UK customs have said there should have been 14 French customs officers manning on the UK side but only 6 turned up the other joined later, they made the excuse they had to attend a problem in the channel tunnel to which Euro Tunnel denied the comment saying that was not the case I know who I believe.
