Corbyn's reasons are clear and he's expressed them many times. Conflicts always ends with diplomacy. His approach is to begin the diplomacy which will end conflicts sooner.

This is what the future would have been like staying in the EU..."member states are reluctant to transfer new sovereignty and powers to the European Union, and we all know the only way out of this crisis is to transfer power the European Union and the European Institution", raving loony Guy Verhofstadt

So are we going to have a general election?

There is only so long we can keep going back to the EU to ask for an extension, they will turn round and say no at some point and at that point if we leave without a deal everyone who currently sits in this parliament will be to blame.

Labour have consistently said they'll back a General Election once No Deal is explicitly not a possibility. Nothing has changed on that.

An how can it explicitly not be a possibility? If the EU turned round now and said no to an extension we would be out on the 31st October 2019. It's the default position if nothing has been agreed, and after 3 years nothing has been agreed and I have no faith if this parliament goes no for another 3 years that anything will be agreed, well we have Johnson's deal but people will want to make all kind of amendments but this is the EU's agreed position so they might not agree with any amendments.

If Labour want to really prevent No deal and if the EU allow it, that would be to win the next election after an extension has been granted, after all that is the only way they can implement their own position on Brexit which appears to be for them to negotiate a deal then put it to the people, because that can't happen without them being in power, unless it was all a soundbite to keep both sides of the argument happy and to sit on the fence.

Of course, if the EU rejects an extension then the situation changes. But Labour is working on the assumption that an extension beyond 31st October will be granted. France is chuntering about it, but the other 26 countries are agreeable and it's still most likely that it will happen.
Once an extension is agreed then the possibility of a crash out on 31/10 (whether engineered by Cummings' chicanery or by accident) disappears and the way is clear for Labour to agree to a General Election. Of course if Johnson wins a majority and then chooses to crash us out with no deal, with parliamentary agreement, then there's nothing Labour can do to stop that. But their immediate priority is to stop a crash out at Halloween. It's a perfectly sensible tactic in the current circumstances.

Backing one side is not diplomacy it is outright support for their cause, Peace begins when those in power decide to end violence and agree to talk to each other, Corbyn has nothing to do with that he outright supports victory by the terrorist groups he supports

Laughable that we now hear up to 140 Labour MPs mostly with leave constituencies will defy Corbyn if he agrees an election fearing losing their seats and income under Corbyns leadership

Seriously? That's bullshit. Are you genuinely suggesting that Corbyn wants the destruction of the state of Israel? That's nonsense. He supports the two state solution to give Palestinians a stable homeland, free from continued persecution and illegal annexation by Israel.
One person's terrorist is another's freedom fighter, depending on whose interests you represent. Begin and Mandela were terrorists, later hailed as international heroes.
Hamas is an elected government of the Palestinians, which considers itself at war for the recovery of the internationally agreed territory that Israel has stolen from Palestine. History will judge whether they are seen as terrorists or liberators of their oppressed people.

If that is their position why is Barry Sheerman MP saying "taken from the Guardian a Labour supporting paper" “We had a meeting of the parliamentary Labour party two weeks ago where right across the range of opinion in the party we said we wouldn’t support an early election.”

France usually chunter about it then fall inline with the other 26.
Hopefully the EU will get back with an answer next week with regards an extension date, let's see if Corbyn and the Labour party back the call for a General Ellection, because I'm reading many Labour MPs don't want one yet.

Until no deal is taken off the table (which it never should) then they will come up with some other lame excuse like it's too windy, too cold or the price of tomatoes...

    I have seen,

    It's too dark.
    It's not the best weather.
    Christmas Nativities have been booked.
People are too busy in the run up to Christmas.
    Universities are sent home.
And a whole host of excuses raising their head.

The leader of the SNP in westminister was making points against it but you give him IndyRef 2 on the same date and he would bite your hand off.

He supports Hamas who have a stated policy of the total destruction of Israel and the death of all Jews in Arab lands so yes he does support the destruction of Israel
Hamas is a terrorist organisation was elected in 2006 and are still in power and will never allow another election, Reports of them murdering any opposition to stay in power are I suspect true, They militarily destroyed the only other party Fatah who ironically wanted to negotiate a two state solution for peace with Israel and to eliminate any opposition to them staying in power

    Three possible reasons.
    1. Labour traditionally does better in Spring rather than Autumn elections. Diehard Tories tend to come out to vote whatever the weather and are more likely to vote in filthy winter weather. Added to that, Labour wants to maximise it's huge membership superiority to mount a massive 'boots on the ground' election campaign which the Tories have no hope of matching. The Tories have the media; Labour has the canvassing numbers and has been carefully planning how to use them for two years. Holding a GE in winter weather limits their canvassing capabilities.
    2. Labour is behind in the polls and needs a very good GE campaign (such as in 2017) to have a chance of winning. Having that campaign in December when people's minds are in Christmas mode is probably not to their advantage.
    3. Some Labour MPs want to get an amended Brexit deal agreed in Parliament and out of the way before a GE. This is so that they can focus the GE campaign on their non-Brexit domestic policies which they believe are popular, as demonstrated in 2017, and give them the best chance of winning.
Tactical considerations are a big part of this, as they always are for all political parties.

There is not one scrap of evidence that Corbyn supports the destruction of Israel. You are simply making that up to support your simplistic analysis of Corbyn.
In your world, 'Corbyn talks to Hamas' = ' He must therefore support the total destruction of Israel'. That's beyond absurd, even by your standards.
BTW, I'm not a Corbyn fanboy, but seeing someone's position twisted like this is appalling.
