I thought East was very good on Tuesday, but he's a little lightweight. I don't think today was the game for him seeing as how they bullied us from back to front

 

Has DP had a decent game since he’s arrived? Reminds me of another DP we had playing for us, who was also terrible.

 

A game to forget today. The pattern of the game was evident from the early minutes ith Stockport targeting the hapless Odusina who looked like a fish out of water. And that generally laid the foundations for the rest of the game with County's quicke press making City look distinctly average. I wasn't so worried a few weeks back but now there a cracks appearing that need to be remedied before they become major fault lines. A lack of chance creation for an in form striker and a back four relaint on an in form keeper to pull them out the shit every other week. Certain players playing themselves out of contention like Halliday and Periara and a central midfield where both players seem very similar rather than complimentary. Hughes realised.this at half time but we seem to be making a formation change every game which suggests our plan A isn't really working. A workmanlike yet fairly limited Stockport side sussed us out quite easily, and a few managers have been able to do that.

 

Well that was not good I can take not playing well but to be out fought all over the pitch is not acceptable. They pressed and sprinted to everything where we were ponderous and jogged around I didn't see Gillead sprint in the entire match. The first 45 was the worst I've seen in a while if I'd been Hughes at half time I'd have been very angry.

Nice one @Old Grey Fox I'd not realised that, as you say he'd know both sides of Odusina game, as I posted why didn't Platt take Wooton and Odusina take Madden.

 

He hardly touched the ball save a cameo with about 10 to go?.

Too soft all over the park today. Stockport weren't great footballing wise but did all the ugly stuff well which was enough to win the game.

Good tactic to stick Wooton on Odusina and I'd suspect it would've been the same if Critchlow played. Both are really poor aerially which gives teams too easy of an outball if they've got a competent target man. Paudie had his faults but he'd win all his headers which is half the battle won in this division. I worry we've prioritised footballing defenders, who are competent when the ball is on the floor, over defenders who just do the basics well.

Second half was a shambles. Long balls, no right hand side and an incompatible front two. Bad day at the office all round but we have to see a reaction next week.

 

I thought Angols yellow was soft because he kicked the ball away, yet a few minutes earlier our lad gets taken out and he just had a word with the County player, I'd have thought he would have been better going to Angol and telling him its your own time your wasting.
They cant win at times Halliday gets subbed and as the rules say he went to the closest side of the pitch to get off yet when their players walked across the pitch when subbed he just pointed to his watch, there are reasons they make these rules but little point if the referee doesn't use them.

Hughes didn't sound impressed after the game on the radio. We were very readable in the 4231 or the diamond we changed to, it just became very predictable. Second half especially, the goal was only ever going to come from a cross into the middle of the box, we never even tried a different approach.

Stockport deserved the points, got to put some hard work in and try again next week

 

Predictable Kev. But even I couldn't see the point bringing him on for 10 mins at RB. Halliday had a very poor game but I would still rather have a proper RB there.

 

Not sure Stockport used the dark arts today they could have been at least 2 - 0 up at half time, even second half when they knew we would be on the front foot they looked capable of getting another goal, I've no qualms about todays result they did a job on us and we looked lost when they didn't allow us to play it out from the back.
