Can't agree we were very much in the game for 30 minutes or so until Smallwoods error which cost us and before we could sort ourselves they hit us for two.
Yes we went downhill from there losing our shape and couldn’t make a simple pass, no one wanted to take responcability what we seem to lack is a Gary Jones or Nathan Doyle to steady the team, I'm very disappointed with our Captain his corners and set pieces have been poor resently, for me he's not the influence I thought he would be coming down from the Championship.

Shout out to Chapman on yet another miss

All that hard work, then he converts the call like he's Johnny Wilkinson

It's almost spot on. If we go with League matches only, then its 3/10 so far this season, and 3/18 to close out last season, for 6/28.

We had a good start last season, 3-2-0 in our first 5, and then went 3-8-7. This season we're 3-5-2.

6 in 28 is terrible for the amount of home support we get. “Not acceptable” as Sparks would say…

Northampton were counter attacking like a premier league team. I struggle to understand what is harder to contemplate

    A) They are playing like that despite being a league 2 team
    or
    B) The fact that they were capable of carving us up time an time again even though we were playing with 2 CDM’s

Just want to say as well, Northampton were fantastic today. The link up play between their attacking players was a joy to watch, for them obviously. The cohesion an chemistry between them, where each player knows where the other is, is outstanding for this league. One-two touches an pass, usually forward, rather than pissing about at the back. Obviously we were shite an made them look better than they were but other teams wouldn’t of been able to carve us up like they did. Not seen Orient play yet like many others here but if they play like that, I can see Northampton finishing as champions

Miserable game, in appalling conditions. We deserved nowt from that. Struggle to see the positives. When it came to making telling moments in the game, Northampton made them count, as usual we were pretty feeble in front of goal.
The central defensive midfielders have to shoulder a lot of blame for goals conceded, but the attacking midfielders/striker really struggled to work their defence.
Northampton looked a solid team, high in confidence and less prone to make errors.
    Back to the drawing board.

Northampton were far and away the best league 2 team to visit valley parade in at least the last 2 seasons. Their pace, mobility and movement off the ball is something rarely seen at league 2 level, and it’s very easy to see why Hoskins has scored at the rate he has. Service a plenty. Could have finished 0-6 and would have been fully justified. I have no doubts Northampton will be promoted this season.

however, if this is the standard we need to be at, we have a lot of work to do and must strengthen in January. We need osadebe back to replace gillead. Our midfield is so stagnated. Smallwood has no pace, and coupled with gillead, it’s a poor pairing. I don’t believe Smallwood is a poor player, but him and gillead at home where we should be on the front foot just doesn’t work. A front 4 of Chapman, banks, wright and cook is a very capable front 4. The issue is that our midfield pair don’t get the ball forward quick enough to exploit space, and by the time it’s up there, the oppo have set themselves, and then it becomes difficult where we’re marked out of the game. We then need to overcompensate by moving other members of the team further forward which leaves us wide open to the counter.

I’m not sure what Ryan East needs to do to get a game, but he is much more able than gillead. Jake young has disappeared off the face of the earth who also Carries a goal threat.

today was a rancid performance, and is probably the worse we’ve been all season. Very disappointing given the crowd and the occasion.

however not the end of the world. We’re in 5th on merit. But we desperately need to improve at home if we have any chance of autos.

It was pathetic how many so called supporters left the ground at 59 minutes. There was 30 minutes left! Plenary of Time to score 3 goals. I’m glad they all missed Cook’s penalty.

And that is “football” summed up in one short paragraph. Fair point absolutely.

I said it a few weeks ago. Smallwood overhits far too many free kicks, passes and corners. Even his “cross defence” pass that gave them their first yesterday was wildly overhit.

Especially him, Platt and bizarrely Lewis were over hitting everything yesterday Was there over compensation for the heavy rain?

They played exactly like Klopp has Liverpool set up with 433. A fast fluid 6 murders a 4231, which is pedestrian in comparison. That explains why our “ three “ were isolated up the pitch and our “ two”, and back four were overwhelmed with pace

All the pre match hype centred around City leapfrogging Northampton Town into an automatic place.
Typically the Bradford public bought into that and duely obliged in number's.
Unfortunately individual mistakes all game coupled with a lack of tactical and the persistent slow build up employed at the moment seldom did home fans get a chance to be positive verbally.
After the two goal salvo from Northampton it was clear to me regardless of all the time left that the game was out of reach The players body language suggested as much to me and obviously Northampton we t on to score a third.
I stayed till the final whistle but it was far from pleasing on the eye shall we say.
Anyone who left early had their reasons it was a thoroughly depressing afternoon all round knowing what could and should have been so,so different had the team turned up

It wasn't the only Liverpool like thing they did. I noticed that during the pre match warm up that Brady came and stood on the half way line watching our players train, a la Klopp.

I've never left early but understand if anyone did, what with the poor football on show and the wet weather. One thing i've not really seen commented on is the pitch. We've had a deluge of rain the last week and although there was standing water it held up really well. Credit to the club for at last giving the players a decent surface to play on.

Well plan B can't involve Cook and Oliver playing together. Watching on I Follow yesterday they appeared to get in each other's way, as though they had never trained to play that system.

Yep. Stayed to the whistle. We commented at half time the only thing that was going to save us, was the match being postponed, due to accumulating water on the pitch!
As you say the surface is the best I can remember it at this stage of the season. With a months break, it should be in a similar condition for the visit of Rochdale, which will be 17th December. Seems an age until we are next at VP.

Oh pipe down ffs maybe folk left early to get away from the gridlock outside the ground ......... maybe folk just fooked off due to yet another pathetic home display and tbh I don’t blame them ........... in fact I wished I’d have done the same at HT
