The bit I don’t understand is what is Darbyshire offering us from the bench, on the playing side?

Last season there was still something in him - some of the goals he scored are testament to that. However this season he looks like he’s lost any edge he had.

I’m a fan of experience in the dressing room and squad, so happy for him to play this part. But really struggle to see why we need both him and Oliver on the bench but then not include Chapman?!

 

We all want consistency but I'm just not sure how you achieve it with something like dissent. Every single exchange with the referee is different. I'm not sure where the 'bar' should be set. Like I say, every incident is different and referees will all have their own idea about what they tolerate but when you throw body language, words used, level of aggression, prior conduct, justification of complaint etc into the mix you're always going to get inconsistency. You're not going to have a situation where someone like Drysdale is going to scroll back in his memory mid game to the Dalot incident a few weeks ago to gauge whether he should or shouldn't give a yellow. This isn't about defending refs, it's just about thinking about it and putting yourself in their shoes.

 

It was a game played in parks head and a pure figment of parks imagination as an automatic response to any negativity aimed at the club.

 

Fair point, and I’ve previously said on here that it’s a difficult job and what I think is yellow may be completely different to 10 people who see the same thing but he doesn’t have a defence for not booking the full back after he deliberately threw the ball back on to the field.
He actually picked the ball up and waited a few seconds before he did it.
That’s not subjective.
It was clearly instructed to refs to clamp down on that sort of blatant time wasting antics.
He saw it clearly and had his hand in his pocket but for some reason chose not to.

 

Yeah I agree on that one. I've said no. 3 got away with too much. Apart from that I don't think he did much wrong.

 

Morecombes first goal was so jammy. A bit like the Leicester OG goal against Ipswich.....

 

Watching it back I'm asking myself whether Lewis could've reacted quicker.

 

He lost the ball which contributed to Notts county getting their 4th goal ,then like you say he was sacrificed at half time.

 

Agree on the standard Jon .... I was for some reason expecting more but some credit to Morecambe there .

Bedeau I thought handled Smith really well and as such drew the influence of Cook from the game. I feel Slew mixed up his game really well, which had the defence at 6 and 7s at times though credit to Kelly whom played in a similar vein

 

A typical response from you. I can’t remember the game but Pointon started in the number 10 position first half and struggled he improved when moved out on the left in the second half. Perhaps you don’t go enough or pay attention

 

I’d also be interested to know which game it was as well.
I’ve had a quick look and the only game that he’s played 45 minutes in was the first half debacle at Notts County.
He clearly didn’t play in the Walker role as Walker played the full 90 minutes.
In fact he was actually involved in the couple of first half chances that Cook missed.

Were the subs combined, i.e. several brought on together? Struggling to understand why only three minutes were added when the subs alone were worth a few mins. I was expecting at least five, possibly 6 or 7

 

AK said after they went two up, that it’s disappointing because both goals were clearly against the run of play. I think it’s clear he was still on the Xmas sherry.

Very happy we clawed it back. If we’d have been winning and let the lead slip, I’d have been fuming, but to fight back and almost snatch a winner, is something we wouldn’t have done under previous managers.

Here’s hoping we’ve come back down to earth and build on this draw with a win on Friday.

Partly yes Dave , but their first, was a WTF moment. It completely took the wind out of our sails, both in the team and on the terraces.

 

Pretty sure the game was in the cup against Wycombe where he started centrally found it difficult to compete and was moved wide before being subbed

I hate to agree with Park but I think he's right although I can't remember the exact game either.
