Credit to our entire back line today, I thought they were all decent.

 

It's our strongest area i would say although Ridehalgh struggled with the pace of their winger at times. I think he'll leave in the summer and we'll bring in someone with a bit more pace. He's done well for us though. No complaints from me but someone with a bit more pace would really bring a new dimension to us from an attacking point of view.

Fair point but then to Hughes' point earlier in the season of 'starters and finishers' we need to play the players at the right time and for me he's better used starting and setting the tone for the first 55/60 minutes. At that point we may want to change formation or personnel anyway.

 

Wellens in post match admitted its been hard keeping the players motivated in the last two weeks since they knew had gained promotion. And thats where we ultimately had the advantage over Mansfield in the last game of the season.

 

Had to laugh someone on Facebook playing hell with the club about communications because he turned up for the match at 3pm

If we fail to go up, then no. The message last year was promotion and we failed, same message again this year so if we end up with the same result, it matters not to me that we finished 'x' amount of places higher than last year because ultimately, we've failed again.

Either one, three or four games left. I've thought all season that if we go up, it would be via the autos but now that slimmest of chances has gone, I'm trying my best to believe it could still happen via the playoffs, which isn't easy when another thing I've thought all season is that Mansfield will be the winners of that.

Anyway, in my attempt to still have hope, I've been looking at the fixtures since the Colchester game - 12 in all, and I've broken them down into 3 groups of 4. The first four games we amounted 4 points from a possible 12, the next four we got 10 from 12 and then the last four we've just played we got just 4 points again. I know points don't feature in the playoff's but if that pattern continues, we should be entering another round of four games where we pick up 10 points (if they were on offer). I'd even settle for 8 as that would be enough.
Yeah, I know it's stupid but it's all I've got.
