At least we/ I got those memories. After spending soggy wet nights at VP in the 60’s , fighting to get relected year on year, the heady heights of the First Division(Prem) were delusional dreams.

But Park,We are in the bottom half of that same div 4 and except for last season we had 3 to 4 years of fighting against going out of the league.I would say the younger ones have endured struggle in better stadium,I'll give you that.

It wasn’t all bad, of course. The 70’s were the same. Ups and downs. That’s perhaps why I never get the doom and gloom bug . Seen it all before and grew to live with it. Once putting my £5 savings in the kitty to help keep the club afloat often keeps my chin up.( £5 was a lot of money in those days ) I’m sure @Bronco@Bronco will remember the time … Meeting in the old stand Dave? Year escapes me ?

It seemed like every year mate.

Remember that Sunday morning very well with speeches from Jack Tordoff, Stafford and David Ward Liberal MP pleading with fans to help support the club financially, buying shares or donating etc, ironically at none of the meetings I attended be it at St George's Hall or our two CVA administrations or that rallying call on the Sunday morning Bradford Council were not in attendance.

Reading up on it I believe the St Georges Hall meting was 1966,
Attendances continued to drop and a new record low of 1,353 was set on 12 May 1966 against Wrexham. It prompted chairman Stafford Heginbotham to hold a crisis meeting in the city's St George's Hall to raise new funds and safeguard the future of the club.

The Sunday meeting was July 1983 when a new club was formed Bradford City 1983.
The club were again in financial difficulties, and in June 1983, Martin called in the receivers and the club was put up for sale. A Save Bradford City Fund was launched on 24 July, and former chairman Stafford Heginbotham and former board member Jack Tordoff bought the club, forming a new company, and enabling the team to start the new league campaign.

I remember there was one councillor there Dave,a Tory one Ronnie Farley who criticised the council for refusing to help City. He was very passionate about it. The Tory council leader at the time was a lady called Olive Messer who in the T&A described football fans as hooligans and absolutely refused to help.

Here’s that famous Sunday morning meeting in 1983. I wonder what some of our more critical fans today would have thought about Bob Martins reign which ended in financial turmoil.

Was she a doctor or married to a doctor as when we lived in Barkerend where I was born there was Jewish doctors home/surgery next house above the Roxy Cinema on Barkerend Road at the bottom of Undercliffe Street, now you mention it there was another councilor in attendance , but I remember David Ward as he was a staunched Bradford City fan.

Once we left the Bradford End we tried the Kop and the midland road stands but finished up in the Paddock right up to the wall in front of tea bar.
