I agree. When Hughes was appointed, I wrote, on another forum, "if this doesn't work, I dread to think what the future holds for us"

Chris Waddle was chronically one footed.

No chance. He was our best player today and worked his socks off.

I think this idea that Evans goes to bed every night dreaming of the day he gets to manage Bradford City is hilarious. Yes he made some comments about wanting the job - when he was out of work! - but anyone that thinks he is going to just walk out at Stevenage (4th in league 1, one point off first) to come to Bradford (17th in league 2) need to give their head a wobble.

I'm baffled by that. The kids started 2 games. 2. Man of the match in one. In a struggling team with a toxic atmosphere surrounding confidence in the manager and a system that stifles any sort of attacking creativity.

With Pointon Walker and Oduor at least there will be a bit of pace

Don’t think it’ll happen but I’d like to see what Youmbi is made of, wouldn’t it be something for two young lads to break into the squad. Would be something to actually praise Hughes for! It won’t happen though. Rashford I believe was due to go to Crewe on loan before he got a chance at United, the rest as they say is history.

Christ you always had some strong contributions on the matter.

I'd give anything to have a Hanson circa 2013 in the side now mind.

Yes he looked a right handful for the time he was on the pitch. I liked his dropped shoulder to win a comerc when he first came on, he was alert and focused immediately and not overawed in the slightest.

Both the Crewe and Grimsby first halves were appalling, on top of some miserable away games. If Hughes doesn’t find a way of:
    A. Making the 3 at the back much more offensive and pressing
    Or….
    B. Reverting to a back 4
….AND if we are drawing or losing at HT, I really fear what the reaction of the crowd will do to our confidence.

We cannot keep going game after game changing at HT because we keep seeing the same outcome from the formation. A line has to be drawn - we cannot perform as badly as we have or even more supporters will turn.

The Grimsby game wasn’t the game to judge.
He was as ineffective as everybody else in the first half and was then subbed at HT.

I hope when he gets fully fit that he does what we hoped he’d do when we signed him.
Orchestrate the midfield and provide a few goals from set pieces.

He just simply can’t play in the same team as Smallwood.

Gillead Mcdonald and Pattison would be my choice if all fit.

Hopefully we have a back 4 like the second half against Grimsby

His preferred 3 CB + 2 WB system may be effective away from home, being difficult to break down, but it is clear teams come to Valley Parade already gee'd up by the surroundings. Pointon and Walker want to attack - let them attack. None of this holding back bollocks. Let's hammer a poor team for a bloody change

Hopefully he starts Afoka in place of Derbyshire then you need to pick two from Pointon, Walker and Oduor to support.

If he decides to go 4 at the back you could fit all 3 in behind Afoka.

I hope for your sake that things improve today. Unfortunately I suspect there are many others who have or are developing a similar view!

    Dread a defeat.

    Fear a dull draw.

    Hope for a win.

Taking hallucinogens for a 5-0 home result!

You’ve said consistently that there’s a team in there if they are set up right.
    Couldn’t agree more.
Last week’s first half was solely down to Hughes’ insistence on setting up in a pragmatic way.
No problems with it away from home but at home that’s unforgivable.

Isn't football supposed to have at least a little bit of entertainment in it, yet another bore fest
