Yes we beat Mansfield and in the main played well. But one result/performance does not disguise the continuing trends of this regressive football club.

2020 has seen us play in all competitions 25 games. 6 wins across all those 25 games, across two managers. We have scored 25 goals, 1 a game and conceeded 37, just under 1.5 a game. 4 clean sheets to boot.

What others are doing is a narrative you may choose to use. Beating Bolton may occur (I hope you are correct) but what we are as a football club are doing is more important to me.
The stats of 2020 are not impressive in my eyes.

They were organised, most of their team have been there ages and had a game plan which he tried to disrupt.

My take is that he needs to stop tinkering and play to OUR limited strengths.

Many couldnt understand the comment he made when he let the lad go (he could be back) all I can think of it was a decision based on money, as a few weeks later he resigned DMH, it's looking more and more like poor decision.

Our games so far show us to be a lower mid table side. I think that's right. We're no better than that. In the poorest league 2 in memory. This season is going to be dreary - if we are indeed bringing in a new CEO and that brings with it a complete rebuild and replan from the top down, then its tolerable. If not, we're going to be down here - or worse - for a long time.

 

So many got carried away with the Mansfield game. We are bang average all over the pitch. And in the dugout. Too much respect again form McCall

 

Why Samuels has gone off in stead of Guthrie I’ll never know.

 

McCall has lost the plot, if he even had one in the first place. Too much tinkering with personnel and formations, every single week. He hasn't a clue how to get a tune out of this squad, and despite inheriting some of Bowyer's crap, he has still had the chance to bring his own players in and failed miserably. Not having this budget nonsense, he still had room to manoeuvre, and teams like Newport and Cambridge are surely run on a shoestring compared with us

 

Eh listen, Ive been in football 35 years. Guthrie played well and I’m not having a scapegoat. Newport are a great side who have played together a while. It will be something similar in his interview.
