I think you put the blame at the door for the club for the recruitment pre season, as bad as Stuart is in the market I think he makes a dig about the club in post match interview about us basically having no idea what we were doing at all.

I dont understand the logic of giving someone a contract extension, teeing up a head of recruitment guy all linked to Stuart and then sacking him. Their doesn't seem to be any logical thinking to what we are doing....

 

The handling of the striker situations was criminal, circa 60 goals a season walks out the door, and you end up left with Donaldson.

 

There's so many more failings. How about entrusting last January to Bowyer them sacking him a couple of days later.

 

I don't think people are realising the severity of the situation we face.

There are zero positive signs, very few chances to recover.

Just an aside It looks like the takeover of Burnley will be happening this week and there were previous rumours that the existing owners there might have an interest along with possibly Dave Baldwin in city. Might be+interesting

 

The only thing I would disagree with is bringing back McCall in February without interviewing anybody else. It struck me then as a lazy appointment to boost season ticket sales and it does to this day.

It’s the absence of any constructive discussion by certain people, opting instead for finding the most provocative ways of saying ‘everything’s awful’. You can’t discuss it or argue it, because there’s a counterfactual world where everything is brilliant and rosy.

 

These things often look different in hindsight against the reality at the time. I think that while the current season has clearly been catastrophic from a recruitment perspective (leaving space in the salary cap is 101 out of the Julian Rhodes playbook), we’ve clearly been left scarred by the fallout from Rahic and the ensuing pressing of the reset button. Most of the stuff around this is window dressing.
