Yes a good mate of mine had some land near Bolton woods juniors club and he was rubbing his hands about the marina which was planned on his land surrounded by canalside mews

I live in Wakefield (obvs) and to be honest I like it as a City to live in. I was in Bradford for 23 years and I’ve been in Wakefield for 23 years. Best move I ever made. The city centre has a couple of rough spots, but it’s not bad overall. We have the Trinity Walk shopping centre, rhe Ridings is slowly recovering and is featuring a few nice independent shops.

We have good restaurants and some nice real ale pubs. I feel quite at home in Wakefield, and there are nice places on the outskirts, eg Newmillerdam, Hepworth Gallery, Pugneys etc, as well as great transport links, train, buses into Leeds, M1 and M62 easily accessible

It’s got a lot going for it and I’d be hard pressed to move, at least until the kids have left school. Then it’s North Yorkshire for us!

It’s a proposal at the minute, not a final decision. Although it’s probably inevitable.

I don’t think that’s the point really. It’s a racial slur against white people!!! I’ve been called it myself !!

How can anyone wonder why people are leaving Bradford in their droves !!!

which is technically correct, well except it is spelt gora. There is also kala which means black.

if it is abusive and derogatory would depend on what was said with it and how it was said

You should have been an MP Nick, I believe similar word was debated when jihadi was being chanted at the pro Palestinian marches, I think most people who heard it took it to be an offensive chant.

I think most people that heard it wouldn’t have a clue what it was.

I know the way Gora is used. And feel tensions growing in communities.

Who on earth is responsible for this absolute clusterfuck that is Bradford city centre right now?
Just been waiting for the bus and witness a kickoff between a bus driver and a young lad. Turns out a group of people have been waiting at the right bus stop but the bus stopped at another stop and didn't wait to let them move from the other stop. The lad runs after it and after banging on the door the driver refuses to open the door, lad calls him a dick head. Then the driver opens the door but refuses to let the lad on for calling him. Talking to the lad after with security, he tells me he's worked all day and now has to wait another hour before he sees his young daughter.
Low and behold my bus stops at another stop from the one it's supposed to but it has done this before so I'm ready for it. I quiz my driver as to why it's not the right stop and his reply ' we just stop anywhere'.
How the hell can you run a public transport service like this where people can't even be sure where the bus is supposed to stop? Couple this with roadworks and a new road system that is chaos and I almost think they don't want people to come to the city.

surely that is just the bus drivers taking the piss. Problem is no one will actually complain so no one will talk to the drivers about it

Well I catch the 576 and that's never at the stop that's been designated. I don't expect the driver to tell me 'we just stop anywhere' but then that would explain why the lad in question missed his bus. Doesn't seem to be any sort of organisation or anyone helping out what seems to be quite a lot of confused members of public.

but that is down to the drivers. The buses are allocated stops, yes they have moved but not in the past week or so and even if they had then it is still down to the driver not stopping at the right one.

Two drivers specifically told me they were told to stop anywhere. It's abundantly.clear there is no organisation down there, one of the security team said they'd had numerous complaints over a.perod of weeks but they can't do anything as they don't know themselves.

fair enough then it isn’t the bus drivers but the companies telling the drivers not to follow the agreed plan. Not sure how the blame can be placed at the management of the city centre. They have sorted the right number of bus stops, sorted which buses are stopping at which with WYMetro, advertised them details, again with WYMetro,

the details are all there as the passengers are managing to stand at the bus stops.

only way anything will happen is if enough people complain to the bus companies and WYMetro.
