    I think most areas have their high and low spots. Plenty of nice areas to live outside the city. Hope the 2025 award will help the inner city as long as it is remembered All needs have to be catered for.

    Agree completely but you don't always have to go to Leeds and Manchester for the bars. Do you ever try Halifax or on a smaller scale Brighouse?

    I only mentioned Leeds and Manchester based on the stereotypical metropolis loving footballer, nothing to do with my own tastes, and yes, there are some nice bars in Halifax, don't know about Brighouse.

    I kid you not, we lived in a tiny village with about 200 houses near Bishops Stortford and it was possible to leave the house and be back in 30 mins with whatever floats one’s boat!

    The police never ever ever came anywhere near!

    I was not keen on Monaco or Monte Carlo 10 euros just to sit down at a table per person service charge whether you ordered anything or not , robbing barstools.

    Yes really . They wanted 40 euros just to sit our party of 4 at the table in Monte Carlo in one restaurant and i understood that was pretty standard according to our holiday rep. We had only called in for the day on our med cruise thank god.

    I stopped going when you didn't know whether your car would be vandalised or worse (my car was brand new at the time), it felt unsafe in and around Midland Road (stupid fast driving by 'locals') and in some places local kids wanted money to "protect" your car. Didn't think it was safe for my young kids. Has it changed?

    I've parked my car in Manningham on match days for 25 years. Never once had it vandalised, nor ever had kids pulling the protection scam (unlike the only time I ever went to Maine Road). Also never felt unsafe walking in the Manningham area, day or night, in my 42 years as a Bradford Met resident.
