In reality Adams is similar to a chef. He decides the menu, and gets the ingredients, then prepares the meal. However just like a chef, one important factor is the quality of the ingredients. if they are poor, or the flavours don’t blend well, then the meal will taste poor.
So getting rid of the chef may help, but if the new chef is stuck with the same ingredients then what they can prepare may also taste fairly bland or uninteresting.
I don’t think anyone thinks having a magic spoon will dramatically change things.
League Two, is one of the few football competitions which has three teams automatically promoted and a further four vying for the play off slot promotion slot. Only two teams relegated.
There is virtually around 25% chance of being in with a chance of being in contention at the end of the season and around a 15% chance of being promoted.
My view is we have been in this division long enough, we should be making a decent attempt for promotion, rather than the poor attempt we are managing. If we do have a top four budget, then it is being mismanaged. It’s about time we stopped being appalling!

It’s a funny league because we seem to do better in league 1 except for Rahic! Even though the odds are so high feels more like a 5% chance.

Anyone attending games isn't supporting the club. You're perpetuating the ongoing destruction of it

    2016-2018: Stuart McCall
    2018: Simon Grayson
    2018: Michael Collins (Head Coach)
    2018-2019: David Hopkin
    2019-2020: Gary Bowyer
    2020: Stuart McCall
    2020: Mark Trueman (Caretaker)
2020: Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars (Joint Interim)
2020-2021: Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars (Joint)
    2021-present: Derek Adams
Keep hearing can’t keep chop and changing managers but seriously look at what had since parky. McCall should never have gone 2018 and then Grayson was stop gap and never a true fit. Collins crazy appointment was never going to succeed. Hopkin came at wrong time another crazy one leading to bowyer to steady ship. His time came due to style of play. McCall should not of returned but he did the saying don’t return where been successful before proved right as I think if stayed would of gone down. Sellers and turnbull kept us up and as soon as deal in front of them we were found out. And now Adams wrong fit completely!!!! People say stability but I really don’t think it exists these days how many Dario Grady’s are there sticking at clubs for years upon years. there isn’t yeah some may last a year or two tops the fact we keep changing all be it every six months is just football

Extending Stuart’s contract to give him the best chance of turning things round without costing the club much money was the right thing to do. Giving T&S a contract when it looked like there was a chance of the play offs again not costing a lot and with the idea of keeping them at the club anyway was the right thing to do. The result was we recovered from a position where we could have slipped out of the league. Appointing Adams without the benefit of hindsight was an excellent appointment which the fan base in the main supported. The mistake Sparks made was abandoning continuity by getting rid of the director of acquisitions meaning when Adams goes we will be starting over again

I know there's a coincidental timing thing about our managers and an away trip to Oldham being the last stop for them..... cant see Adams making it to Oldham.

Think he'll be sacked today or tomorrow. I'm really against chop and change because it clearly gets us nowhere, but this fit is just all wrong. We've tried promotion winners for the level we were at the time in Grayson, Bowyer and now Adams and it just doesn't fit. Tried the club legend and that just ended sour, never again. Tried promoting up but it just felt like they weren't ever taken seriously.... so what next?

Worst thing for me is the players attitudes. It's so obvious when they down tools and stop playing for a manager. Look at the amount of managers Paudie, Watt, Sutton, Cooke and few others have gone through now. It's embarrassing, but it's almost like the players get away with it every time. Just watching the last few, you get the feeling with a few players they just can't be bothered because they know he's gone soon, so why try?

The crowd attendance yesterday is a warning to Sparks of things to come if he does not get rid of Adams, The customers ( supporters ) do not enjoy him or his football and will not buy something they do not like,

I’m not defending Adams and think he has to go as he’s clearly turned on fans and you can’t have that with paying customers. However you say we fail with managers who’ve got promotion at their level, but we had Grayson for around 3 months and no transfer window, Bowyer around 9 months excluding breaks 2 windows and that’s the best team we’ve had in years tbf but we fell off a cliff and if Adams goes around 6 months with 2 windows. Non have had one full season, Parky got 40 games before his first full season. I think only Bowyer out of them ever got a promotion in his first season but I might even be wrong there.

Eventually the fan base are going to have to give a manager time, but it has to be someone they can build a good relationship with. It’s time this club was more realistic of the crap we’re in, big crowds won’t get us to where we want to be.

We will give a manager time when we can see he plays good football and is building for the future, We do not need to win every game but we do need to share some hope with him,

Or a mistake in appointing Turnbull as the DOF in the first instance? Perhaps not the right choice, someone else may well have identified/recruited a more successful blend of players?

I disagree that the players have a poor attitude. I did not detect a lack of effort yesterday. A lack of skill in some areas, yes, but little indication they had downed tools.
What there was in abundance was an indication that Adams had set them up in completely the wrong way, imposing his rigid system on players it didn't suit.
Since when has Andy Cook been able to play a lone striker role? He was battered to pieces by 3 centre halves all on his own. There was no width behind him and the central three were all too far away. Everything was loaded on the full backs who had nobody in front of them.
I think the crowd got it right when they chanted that it was Derek Adams whose football was shite. The crowd did not get on the backs of the players apart from one or two wayward passes, and rightly so.
I don't think the players have downed tools, but they could be forgiven for feeling more than a little despondent. After all, if you know that one mistake is likely to lead to you being named and shamed publicly by your manager, you are less inclined to be positive in your play. That's down to Adams and his management "style".

I don't think this fanbase will ever give someone time to build whilst we are in this league. Ever summer it's the same, you'll hear 4 or 5 times in the media "Bradford are too big for that league". Then you'll see half the new signings say "promotion is the goal". Sparks will do his yearly soundbites and say this club needs promotion...... problem when you do that, you've implanted to your fan base that you NEED to go up. Hence when failure comes, the tide turns quickly.

We're told and tell ourselves we are too big for this level, look at twitter whenever we play a Sutton or Barrow and the amount of stuff said about how tinpot and embarrassing it is to play these teams, but we're playing them for a reason. It's a sour cycle we're in, unfortunately.

The mix of players isn't working. Their skill sets, arguably are too narrow, their running off the ball, football ‘intelligence’, prone to injury, and the way the team is asked to play, just doesn’t work and is pretty dull to watch.
When Adams came, he recruited a number of players.
The team that played yesterday witnessed nine players who Adams has recruited out of the fourteen who played a part.
That is a team that Adams has built.

We shouldn’t be looking to build in this league.

Clubs like us and Tranmere will not allow it but Tranmere have now got it right it seems. Us on the other hand have a useful CEO and dreadful owner plus a manager we don’t like.

Good post what chance has a lone striker when the midfielders are 10 yard behind you. Cook was a frustrated figure yesterday he was close to lashing out
