Stopped reading after the first sentence. In what universe was extending Stuart's contract was the right thing to do? Because it certainly wasn't this one.

If a manager said we’re building here, we’re going to build a squad around POC, Foulds, Cooke and Vernam (add or delete players as you see fit), they’re going to be the core of this club as we progress back to where Rupp found us, we’ll add experience and quality and play some decent football, I’d buy that. I’d like a team we can all back like we did with the 12/13 squad, players we still talk about a decade later. Create a club feel again rather than what we have.

Do that, and without Sparks’ daft comments about promotion or bust that were destined to come back and haunt him, and you might get the fans back onside again.

Their primary focus is commercial gain. Simple as that. They don't give a monkeys about the football, which is why they're stuck in the dark ages.

Very different ends of the spectrum, obviously. The point is, in relation to us, we have a disinterested owner who's only real care is it not costing him money, and he likely takes his consultation fee in the meantime. He's got a novice CEO running the club, and it shows. That CEO only has the gig because it required minimal effort and was almost certainly a cheaper route than going out and running a competitive process. If you're set up wrongly at the top end of the club, you've got no chance.

If Derek Adams' CV is so important, why do Rupp and Sparks CV's not matter? ;)

How similar the sentiment is over at Reading, this is from their protest yesterday...

"“We want to get the club back to how it should be run. We’ve had years of this owner and it’s getting worse. The communication is getting worse, everyone can see through it. It’s not coming from the owner; it’s coming from the communications officer and it’s not good enough. They’ve had time after time to put it right and they still try and throw money at fans to try and cover it. This isn’t how a club should be run. It’s a rudderless ship. You want to see direction someone, but we’ve got direction from nowhere. We’re only going in one direction right now. There’s got to be some realisation from the hierarchy of the magnitude of the problems because if we go down to League One it will be catastrophic for the club."

Someone let them know they have no divine right to do well and they should be happy they aren't Bury. Their successful years in the higher divisions are outnumbered by 50 years outside of the Football League between 1871 - 1920 so they shouldn't really be complaining and are in fact very spoilt by their recent success! Their older folk need to set the young ones in line and temper expectation, maybe remind them that in 1878 they had to watch from a wooden shack as Caversham United hammered them 7-0...but they never stopped clapping and they won't stop now

I think most would accept the style of play if we got promoted.

I think what the fans are currently showing is they can't accept the style of play and 2 home wins since August.

Can’t believe we haven’t managed back to back wins since August. That’s terrible.

Don’t worry though, if we sack him we won’t find anyone better, eh. Jeez.

A line can indeed be drawn John, thank you for the explanations. I don’t recall casting aspersions on your integrity, but, if I did, then I sincerely apologise.

As to the comment of 12th December where I refer to an apparent payment, my belief being based on the earlier comments by Dennis on the €300k, I accept that that was erroneous and if I could I would happily delete the comment. If a moderator can do that I would be grateful.

    Thank you John.

Please keep your petty insults to yourself.

I wrote about this matter long before John was given access to the club's management accounts around the time when Rahic left the club. I don't recall you asking any questions at the time. When John wrote his piece in WOAP, I asked one question which was about the source of his anlaysis. As expected, the response was that it all came from the club's own management accounts rather than the full financial accounts of the two companies, the club and its holding company. Therein imo lies the problem. You'll probably get a better insight if you read my earlier post.

It's weird how some of the posts in here suddenly become super formal haha

It goes from Bradfordian to Chumley Warner at the drop of t'hat.

Only a ground demonstration outside the offices after a game will work, The press and tv will cover it and force the owner and Sparks out in the open

Looking at recent Sky highlights of home games, it seems 5,000 or so fans (particularly on midweek nights) have already stopped going. I certainly wouldn't waste my time going on Saturday, just to walk out. The crowd will probably be made up of diehards (and fair does to them, it's everyone's choice) most of whom wouldn't participate in a walk out. I think empty seats is the answer. It's a sign of what's to come at season ticket renewal.

@Park bantam@Park bantam is just stalling for time, as usual.

He's pretending that if 10,000 people email Rupp 10,000 different ideas, that will sort out all our problems.

When in his heart, he knows he's just scared of change and the future.

Dave, many elements were behind his demise. Fans were angry/fecked off with Rahic. Anti Rahic chants. Fans not going to games. You was there, as was many of us. The flyover was cancelled due to weather conditions. Media attention was in the Mail and other rags.

Was it Dewhirst that went to Germany. It wasn't dialogue alone that got Rahic out, it was a collective.

Look, I've been personally boycotting spending at VP since October. That's my choice. I don't want to spend further on Bradford City till Rupp is gone but I don't know how I will react in the summer when St's are about. You'll find out how resilient I am then.

    That's my boycott status.

Yes i agree about the frustration. What i think might be healthy is for there to be physical supporter meetings where comments can be made in person. My suspicion is that in the next decade social media will be looked upon in the same way as tobacco in terms of health and well-being.
