Correct, but what you do is replace them with better. That is what successful clubs do, like Sheffield U. It costs money, but the result of not doing that is failure. Rahic thought he knew better than McCall, and his dream was put into operation, our squad is full of kids who arrived here as the ‘next big name’ and good professionals who knew how it was done were ignored, and here we are.

Playing devils advocate here how would you have kept the following players?

Merdeith - Millwall offered him a contract
Marshall - Wanted to move to London to be near family
Cullen - recalled by Wets Ham who wanted him in the Championship

Darby was let go as McMahon was preffered at right back, McArdle looked like a big miss, was never replaced but he wanted a 3 year deal (maybe should have given) and Clarke was let go - was he a miss?????

You claim you wanted Evans for his record?

 

Evans would have saved us, who cares about his reputation, id rather have 8k fans and a team in a higher division with Evans in charge as opposed to what we currently have... Bowyer wont last he’ll be gone before xmas ‍♂️

 

I never mentioned his reptation once.

Why would he have saved us? Based on what? Bowyer has a good record too and he couldn’t save us.

I’ll bet you 50 quid for the burns unit that he will be here longer than Xmas. Put your money where your mouth is

 

Plus Evans is decent at what he does but demands a set of his own players everywhere he goes. Wasn’t going to get that here.

 

The debate was Evans would have kept us up, so he would have had the same players as Bowyer wouldn't he ?.

 

Bowyer has failed at Bradford City so far. Results back that. He has been a major let down.

I do feel Evans was more the kind of manager we needed when Hopkin left but Bradford City are a weak club and it's no shock we're where find ourselves.

Bowyer long term might be a better fit but he needs results and fast now because massive pressure will be on him at the start of next season if we fail to get off to a good start.

 

I believe someone posted even though Evans brought 16 new players in during the last closed season he failed at Posh, so why would he have performed any better than Grayson, Hopkin and now Bowyer with this squad.

 

How did he fail? Posh were top half and in the top 6 at points.

I'd suggest if you lose your position in football management you've failed.
Remember a certain Stuart McCalls bad spell and the outcome of that poor spell, and at the time we were in the top 6 ?.
