Eh!
Not true!
It works both ways.
1st thing though do you think Edin or whoever did the contracts over recent years put a relegation clause in or agreed to one?
Relegation Clause should work both ways if not we could be in trouble. Players should be triggered a decrease in wages if relegated.
Some players will be allowed to leave for free or reduced transfer value
However, to say players won't care is off the mark. Loan players might not as they go back to the clubs but players contracted to the club might soon have to take a reduced wage- Is that something you would like?
The earliest thing is the say players are not trying or don't care. If someone isn't bombing around at 100mph they don't care. RUBBISH! We played well over the Xmas period then our manager lost his bottle against Barnsley and started losing the players in my mind and unfortunately we haven't recovered since then. Also our owner needed to splash more cash in Jan but to be fair to him the signings made in Jan made no sense.
The players are trying but some just lack quality and our team/squad is vastly unbalanced that lacks strength and pace like Bowyer highlighted.

relegation clause or not, I genuinely can't get my head around why our team don't seem to give a toss. they turn up and phone in their performances every week, ambling round the field, showing no fight, barely breaking a sweat and getting handily beaten every week... if they don't want to be here, then the smart thing, you'd imagine, would be to put themselves in the shop window by playing well but they aren't even bothering with that.
they'll be in for a shock when they realise there is no takers for them in the summer and they have to stay here. -

They usually come from suggestions/request from the agent and then it will depend on how firmly the club push back or how confident they'll be that they'll stay up. Arguably, we might have been rather bullish at the start of the season and agreed to terms that were more in the players favour (although given the size of some of the wages it might not be so bad actually) -

No doubt Mr Rahic won't have put in any relegation clauses in any of the contracts as he was so full of himself and thought we were play off material.Championship manager has a lot to answer to

Nowhere did I say we needed a full team of "midgets".
I would however suggest we also don't necessarily need an entire team of giants. -

I could be more realistic and throw Nakhi Wells at you but it seems we're already in silly season with your replies. -

For the record though, if you made me choose, I'll have Wells every time. -
Article in T&A this morning ringing a few alarm bells for me. Suggestion seems to be that Todd's contract will not be renewed for next season if (as seems most likely), we end up in league 2. Are we going to provide Bowyer with the experienced support he needs for success, or are we going to do it on the cheap and hope for the best with Drury as his number 2?

But as with many of the current playing squad, Drury and McElhone are already contracted for next season. It will probably cost the club something if they wish to break those contracts. On the other hand, Tod's contract expires shortly. -
Think if we're having this issue with coaching staff then we better get use to most of the contacted players staying.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

We will all have to wait and see. No point in sweating it out just yet. Cost cutting will have to take place, that is for sure. However, I think if GB wants an assistant coach he will get one.
