There have been a lot of comments about the ‘booing’ as the team left the field at the end of Saturdays match. I am away at the moment (just north of Exeter, it took me 5 hours 20 minutes to drive down!) so didn’t go to the game, so cannot comment directly.

The big question is, is ‘booing’ justified? If yes what has to happen for it to occur? Is it the result of cumulative poor results? If yes what has to happen, how many poor results. Saturday wasn’t a defeat, the team are in the top ten places, so what has been the trigger.

On a personal note, l don’t do ‘booing’. I just walk out with a grimace, and talk to friends about the game and probably switch the subject onto plans about the weekend.

What is your position. Boo or not? What influences you? What do you hope to achieve (if anything other than just letting off steam)?

The transfer window is shut, there is a limitation on the number of ‘senior’ players. So little chance of external changes, which will change the team.

Don't boo. Just leave quietly or in recent times, early. Something I had only done on the odd occasion before Rahic and Rupp came along. But then I don't clap like a sea lion everytime we win a game at the end either or win a 50/50 ball, or a header et al.

Not a fan of booing but have been known to partake in the odd ironic cheer over the years.

    Any chance other option?

    Booing after poor performances.

The first game l walked out early was the Coventry night game in 2018. I actually left after their fourth goal went in, so about twenty minutes early. I usually stay right to the end. Even then l didn’t Boo, just walked straight out.:skull:

I think that is either option 2 or 3 you decide on your personal tolerance/threshold.

Not really as it isn't neccessarily the result. We can lose and it not be an issue but if we lose and we play like a set of donkeys that have never met before it is different.

Remember that game, been drinking in Bingley that day and was a chore (just considering going to VP under R&R) to leave Chip n Urn. Got to kick off a touch late, something I rarely do and was gone when Hiwulya scored the 4th(?) on about 70ish minutes. Got to the Record in good speed, well before the final whistle.

Don't mind booing after a terrible performance but I thought it was weird on Saturday. It almost seems like it's a habit every time we don't win rather than it being for exceptionally bad games.

Thought the crowd was a bit tetchy in general on Saturday with some pretty loud groans when stuff didn't go right. Not really expecting people to clap at everything but it did seem noticeable to me.

Agree with Aaron found it strange Saturday not so much the booing at full time but for certainly moments especially the Cook, Robinson sun i eluded to in the match thread. I think it’s counterproductive while a game is still in the balance, apparently we’re the 12th man but when our fans act like that I think it’s a load of nonsense I know if I were a player it wouldn’t get the best out of me hearing that sort of reaction. I’d be interested to hear from anyone who booed that moment on Saturdays and get their feelings on why and what benefit you think it gives? There must have been some as there were boos all over. I’m no happy clapper but like others I’ll happily leave early when we’re getting hammered, or I’ll just leave on the whistle like Saturday.

Yes unashamedly booed the shocking performance at Blackpool under "I'm a Championship manager" when we lost 5 - 0 and watched a gutless performance from a team who on the day weren't fit to wear the Claret & Amber of our club.

I save the booing for when we are woeful and don’t even look like a side.
Otherwise just walk out and don’t stay for the clap

Booing as gone on for decades at football as an acceptable sign of disapproval, for all those that claim booing to be counterproductive then should we stop cheering aswell when things are going well? Players and officials can't have it both ways.

The booing of the sub was understandable. It was a nothing substition, taking off your leading scorer with 3 mins to go in a like for like change with offered no difference to what had not worked for the previous 87 mins was daft. He may aswell have gone two up front for a short time , they booed that, not Robinson.

The booing at the end was due to what 5 games without a win I feel not the performance. Albeit it was a performance that lacked so many things and worthy of a few jeers, it was still 10 times better than the performance at Salford (also rightly booed).

If a player or team, can't take the stick then they shouldn't be here. Some people were happily clapping away and cheering the players on their lap of appreciation like we had won for goodness sake. It's stuff like that ,that is holding the club back. Too many people are happy with mediocrity or worse

No people shouldn’t just clap and cheer anything, but I do think while a game is still going on booing is counterproductive unless we’re getting hammered. Seconds later Vernam was through 1 on 1 who knows maybe a more positive and relaxed environment would have seen a different result to that finish but we’ll never know. If you were a striker coming on and everyone was booing would it increase your performance? Doubt it.

Didn’t boo on Saturday, like others have said I save the booing for exceptionally bad performances.
I think the mood from the fans started even before kick off when the team was announced as the same that lost to Salford and the same team that hasn’t produced a win in 5 games.
It’s the fans only way to communicate to the manager that it isn’t accepted.
Any further stubbornness from Adams where he simply won’t change the system is likely to get him into the same territory as Bowyer.
The reverse of the booing is some cretins clapping like seals at Salford after a 1-0 defeat. Maybe that tells Adams that it was ok and fine to stick with same team the week after. Be interesting to see the lineup for Crawley.

Didnt boo but don't blame anyone that did we were fecking dire!

If some booing hampered Vernam and his 1 on 1 chance then he's in the wrong profession sadly.

Think the booing on Saturday was due to a buildup of poor results.

What is it? No win in 6 now?
