One saving grace in this signing.
It's only a one year deal.
Fingers crossed his undoubted enthusiasm and experience will rub off on some of the younger players in our squad.
I of course wish him well on his return to the club.
Whilst I have my own reservations about this signing he's no mug and will be aware underperforming will almost certainly stir up a vitriol response from the stands.
Time will tell.

 

Scored total of 5 goals in all competitions since leaving us in 2017....

Never same after injury think he went his last 21 games for us without scoring....yet we've signed him twice since

He'll be perfect for when we want to completely slow down the tempo of games and have too many bodies in the midfield area.

To be fair though, he brings lovely curly hair to the squad.

 

Spot on. It's the old boys network. Everyone gets to have at least 3 spells with us. I want Lee Mills and Robbie Blake brought back as well.

Decent signing

 

Please explain how it's a decent signing?

 

He'll make more impact than Reuvan Sattlemeir too but he's no more replacing him than he is Akpan or Anderson.

 

For me that's the problem @How - he's been here twice and we still don't know how to fit him in the team in a way that gives us more opportunity to score (because he's an attacking player, right?)

The signing creates more uncertainty than certainty. Folk might query Watt or Sutton but at least we know where they will fit in to the team/formation.

So, NM, how was being in lockdown with Fordy for 2 months? Has it had any impact on you?

 

Never understood this slow down the tempo in games ballocks...Why would you do that? Do you see Utd, Liverpool or any top team do it? Do Leeds do it?

In fact lets look at Swindon. Did they do it? If your attack is good enough you keep on going?

Seriously, some of our fan base really need to get into 2020. I know it's a tough year but this club is light years behind where it should be.

I’m assuming this is more about a squad player with eyes, ears and a voice in the dressing room for Stu & Kenny. In his two previous stints I’ve failed to be wowed by him, but can’t help liking him for his clear passion for the club.

His spell at Grimsby was decent, can’t deny that. If he can impact the club in a positive way both on and off the field, and doesn’t detract both finances and squad numbers away from the more important signings we know are ESSENTIAL, then I’m ok with this. However it needs to be followed up with much more to give me some sort of confidence for the season ahead.

 

If Parker to be believe in T&a we have already missed out on Antoni Sarcevic to bolton and made enquiries for Ali Crawford but missed out on him too. So not sure where we are with “main targets”. I fear with our self imposed salary cap we are way down the bottom already

 

I think you missed the point of my post. I wasn't suggesting his slowing the game down or clogging up midfield as good things.

It did give you reason to include Liverpool in one of your posts again though. Is it really as simple as doing what the best team in the land is doing? If all the teams in the league did what liverpool were doing, there'd still only be 4 of them promoted.

 

Has he scored since that shocking miss in the playoff final? Unfortunately, that’s all I think of when I think of him.

It's a so out of dated approach. Not even sure top teams now run to the corner flag in injury time.

He's far too slow to be effective now. It's an extremely poor signing for us.
