    It was a good save but he probably should have scored but he doesn’t get any credit for winning the ball starting the move and getting up the field to get the shot in.
    It was tactics that lost us that game not Clarke

    I wasn’t in favour of signing him but I still think he is a decent player and that front three will be better than most in this league ( and before people jump in I did say most)

    Just been looking on the Grimsby message boards they really like Clarke with plenty of comments like this

    Clarke for me was one of the better things to come out of the end of last season, really livened our front play up, linked up with players in all areas, quality on the ball, great movement. Think we would struggle to find similar qualities/ experience. Would love us to sign him again but albeit within our limits.

    Any others out there who love the club and will give 110% for the shirt make a beeline for McCalls office, strictly first come first signed till the budget runs out. Only requirements are a tenuous link with the club and/or manager.

    I’ve let myself down there because I hate the phrase “number 10”, but everyone seems to use it these days. I believe it means to play behind the front two, or behind an out and out striker, eg in a 4-4-1-1 or 4-3-1-2 etc.

    A No.10 used to be inside left, these days a No.10 is a link player just behind the front two.

    He'll be perfect for when we want to completely slow down the tempo of games and have too many bodies in the midfield area.

    To be fair though, he brings lovely curly hair to the squad.
