For me his legs had gone in his last stint with us but if we can get some legs in and around him maybe do ok.

The one thing with Billy least he wants to be at the club and this has to be a positive.

 

If Parker to be believe in T&a we have already missed out on Antoni Sarcevic to bolton and made enquiries for Ali Crawford but missed out on him too. So not sure where we are with “main targets”. I fear with our self imposed salary cap we are way down the bottom already

 

I think you missed the point of my post. I wasn't suggesting his slowing the game down or clogging up midfield as good things.

It did give you reason to include Liverpool in one of your posts again though. Is it really as simple as doing what the best team in the land is doing? If all the teams in the league did what liverpool were doing, there'd still only be 4 of them promoted.

 

Shocking miss? I remember it being a very good save.

 

Some would say the goalkeeper made a superb finger tip save. Mainly Millwall fans but when you see it in slo mo it was the thinnest of touches that diverted the ball around the post.
Maybe he should have put his laces through it instead?
Anyway we should have easily won that game had we been more adventurous. Instead we were too scared of their front 2 and that ultimately cost us.

 

Time to leave it alone Fordy. We've got it that you aren't happy. I too would rather we were signing younger, better players but we are where we are plus there is the salary cap to consider.
Stuart obviously feels he can trust him play a role for us plus he is probably not costing us too much.
As for him just being signed because he is a mate that is insulting to say the least and is a cheap shot from the safety and comfort of this forum.
I'm with you on most things mate but not that. He wouldn't let friendship cloud his judgement when planning for getting us out of this mess.

 

Billy wasn't a Stuart signing initially, he was a Parky signing.

I don't really associate him that much with Stuart.

 

Let's hope he gets the formula correct or my patience for him will wain quickly. No hiding place for Macca.

Lazy appointment in February which I disagreed with at the time and hope he gets it right but he is no less exempt to criticism than any other member of the hierarchy at City.

 

If we bring in other quality I'm ok with Billy, thought he caused us some problems at VP when he played for Grimsby and I genuinely hope he can get JV in amongst the goals.

 

Well people say they want possession football rather than long ball and Billy Clarke is well suited to that. He Keeps possession well but he is not a striker he is more of an advanced midfielder

 

I wouldn't necessarily go as far as to say brilliant signing, but I don't think its a desperate one. If he is fit enough he can definitely do some sort of job for us

 

Good number 10, creative, good character, better than McCartan (who was his replacement a couple of year ago!). Ticks a lot of boxes for me considering a lot of players we’ve had in the last 2 years.

Let's not get this twisted..He's McCall's mate and it's a mate signing. Billy Clarke isn't good enough.

 

The big worry with him is he seems to get endless injuries

One saving grace in this signing.
It's only a one year deal.
Fingers crossed his undoubted enthusiasm and experience will rub off on some of the younger players in our squad.
I of course wish him well on his return to the club.
Whilst I have my own reservations about this signing he's no mug and will be aware underperforming will almost certainly stir up a vitriol response from the stands.
Time will tell.

 

Spot on. It's the old boys network. Everyone gets to have at least 3 spells with us. I want Lee Mills and Robbie Blake brought back as well.
