The lease would be negotiated based on success or not on the field . I think that’s how it works?

Spot on. I have attended Kings Lynn games. Oh dear. Portacabin for away fan toilets , overflowing with urine running down the terraces. Don’t think I’m joking. Truly truly awful experience. Whilst agreeing it’s not National League, it’s still a reflection of the facilities in non league footy.

Gibb played a blinder when he bought the stadium, i applaud such a clever business mind. There was a risk attached but like all good businessmen, this was weighed up in the pros and cons. And as i've learned on here, as part of a pension fund they have to get the best return on the asset for their customers.
What this means for City? Well, Gibb holds all the aces, Sparks can give him all the reacharounds he wants but any future deal is for Gibbs benefit not ours.

I'm not questioning you as a fan mate, it was genuine. The club relies on these "fair weather fans" If it wasn't for them we would be on about 4000 season tickets I recon, and wouldn't have a pot to p**s in. In my opinion, I'm happy to sit next to someone who has been going for 80 years or if it's their first time at City.

I guess there is a very good chance your lad will not return to actually live in Bradford. Work and relationships are most likely to influence his choice of where he will reside.
The demise of City as an attraction, is less likely to entice him to even visit.

I've told him exactly that. I'm not sure he'd stay in the North East as there ain't much there but i don't want him wasting his time in this dump of a city. Theres a great big world out there.

It was definitely a good deal for both parties at the time when the club was on the verge of being insolvent with at least one major bank wanting its debt being repaid and the other co-owner unwilling to put his own money into the club. According to the Prof, Gibb's offer to buy the ground was one of a number of similar offers but Gibb's was the best from the club's perspective. Along with the property company who bought the offices, shop etc, Gibb saved the day.

Gibb later offered to renegotiate the agreement so that there was a tiered approach to the annual lease. The higher up the pyramid, the more the club paid; the lower our position, the lower the lease. We were in the Championship at the time when Rhodes declined the offer. Twenty years on, we are still feeling the impact of that decision by JR. If only he'd used a crystal ball!

I agree and in an ideal world, those first timers have such a good experience that they eventually end up becoming season ticket holders. Unfortunately there is no chance of that happening at the moment and it will probably put them off ever setting foot in VP again!

They all end up in London these days! The youngest went to Warwick, her large friendship group all came from within the M25. Married now to a guy from the same Uni, lives in London and works in Blackfriars. Moved there when she left Warwick.
As for the oldest, she and her husband (both former season ticket holders) now live in San Francisco! She remains an I-Follow supporter, buying a season pass. She gets up at 7.00 am each Saturday to watch the games (home and away!).
City is the only thing that keeps the link with the old Bradford ‘County Borough.

    Practically nothing

Most of the stadium is concrete which will cost 1000s to remove probably 100s of thousands

The cost of dismantling the stands will probably equal it's worth in scrap

What are you left with... An acre or so of land in a shithole area of which there are 100s littered round Bradford with better access

I have seen @king karl@king karl valuation. Tend to agree. I guess @Ulysses S Grant@Ulysses S Grant may have an idea, given his occupation. Anyone else on here have a view given their professional role?

Tbh if we ever left VP or dropped into the NL only a fool would consider dismantling it bearing in mind the cost implications and the end result

It would probably be offered to us the bulls or park ave ( or all 3 ) at a vastly reduced rate knowing it can only ever be a stadium

The bulls were / are paying C100k per year at odsal... Gibb could get 200k off us and them combined minimum... He's had his money already out of it

Having a decent stadium would get bulls back in superleague with the new IMG points system so would have more money to spend on it

Far from it! Imo the real villain was the one who failed to comply with the terms of the original Administration in paying some of the big creditors which automatically pushed the club into a second Administration. It all seemed to happen when Gibb was away on holiday and when he returned, you might recall that he appeared on the pitch at VP with a mic spitting feathers. At that point the administrators calculated that the club had 'debts' of £36mill most of which were later written-off. The now debt free club was then bought for around £900k by the new owner through a new company! Coincidence?

Correct, he should watch that video.

I feel while it perhaps doesn't sit well with a lot of supporters, a large scale non renewal of season tickets is a way to force him out if he doesn't respond to the petition and a reasonable approach.

So the further down the leagues we go, the cheaper the rent gets? Don’t be silly.
What would it be if we dropped as low as Scunthorpe have? No commercial rent would ever be negotiated on those terms as it almost creates an incentive for the tenant to fail.
