They said they have a local referee checking the pitch on a daily basis, and he had zero concerns whatsoever

Well he won't will he as next door a local amateur match was going ahead while the professional side in Barrow couldn't get the game on.
No adverse whether for at least 2/3 days, sun out today, warm enough, yet the goalmouth is unplayable??

This is what's wrong with officialdom these days no consistency whatsoever in the game.
How did Bradford play on a pitch with very little grass the other night yet a square the size of a small garden shed is deemed to be unplayable.
Today's postponement requires a full investigation as to why this game was called off so late but like with most associations they will look after their own.

GA was grinning on the pics that have been on the Comms although I spoke to Kev Macdonald, Andy Cook and Callum Kavanagh outside the ground and they were fuming

Table-wise, it's not the worst thing. Everyone has now caught us up in terms of games played or overtaken us, except for some reason, Grimsby.

We now have 2 further home league games and we've just won the last 2.

Notts County are next, they're dropping like a stone, and effectively out of contention unless they turn it round immediately. We're below them, but winning, we need to continue winning with equal urgency to have any chance at all (and even then it's a slim one).

If we'd lost today, that would be two morale-destroying losses in a row.

This might not be a bad thing, all in all.

Haven't seen any reports mentioning that the decision was based on the pitch being 'waterlogged' .

For all the talk about our pitch I don't recall a single moment against Wycombe when the ball didn't bounce or carry.

I did, but only down the Midland Road side.

It made some of the players look like they had world class trapping ability lol

A lack of grass is very different to a loose surface, anyone who’s played kids football knows that. One is dangerous and one isn’t.

Well, from a selfish perspective, if it is rescheduled for Tuesday March 19, I’ll be able to go. (I think there’ll be tickets available).
Anyway, it’s a pita for those of you who made a wasted trip.

I disagree with folk thinking it might have been beneficial to not play today. I base it on the fact we've come off the back of arguably our best performance of the season and the players will be smarting from an unjust defeat. Personally I think the players will have been well up for today and would have given Barrow a good going over. All hypothetical of course but could be that when we come to replay this game our form could well have dipped?

Agree, would have been 8th with a win as well. An opportunity absolutely lost, Barrow could find form by the time we play them.

That’s balanced by turnaround time and injuries and suspension to key players. I think Alexander is secret pleased tge game was off

I think Park is right, for better or worse.

The insinuation from Wild is that Graham wanted the game off.

That’s a different thing altogether I have travelled there myself and had the game cancelled after we arrived. I feel sorry for the travelling fans. I am talking entirely about the playing side Barrow have had a free week whilst we had a tough game which we lost a day later than usual with a small turnaround time and injuries and suspension no wonder Alexander is quoted by Wild as wanting the game off

That pure conjecture based on nothing. Who knows what the situation will be when we next play them.
